As a seasoned gamer of the fashion world, I’ve seen my fair share of runway shows, but SP5DER‘s FW24 collection left me utterly spellbound. The “Nocturnal Highway” theme resonated deeply with my late-night gaming sessions, and the vibrant colorways were reminiscent of the neon pixels that light up my screen.
5 years ago on September 8th, SP5DER made a grand appearance on the runway for an eagerly awaited event, marking their anniversary. With an illustrious lineup of stars, this brand has garnered popularity among streetwear and music enthusiasts due to its eye-catching logo-emblazoned t-shirts and coordinating sweat suit sets in bold hues. However, for this occasion held at Spring Studios, SP5DER offered a fresh take on their signature style from their Atlanta roots.
Just outside the building, people chatted animatedly, speculating about what the upcoming line would offer and how it would embody the brand’s distinctive patterns and edgy style. The Fall-Winter 24 collection, named “Nocturnal Highway,” adopted a fresh “see now, buy now” strategy, allowing each outfit to be bought instantly until the end of the year.
The brand showcased its strong ties to music by playing an exclusive soundscape mix by Pedro Cavaliere, while the focus was on fashion items like leather jackets, accessories, elevated denim, tracksuits, fur-lined hoodies, and others bearing the “S5X” logo. Classic SP5DER design elements were present, maintaining a relaxed atmosphere, but fresh, bold details emerged, such as using advanced materials and textiles.
The star-studded model selection brought an element of surprise to the show, incorporating names from pop culture and sports. Kyle Kuzma, Alton Mason, Anwar Hadid, SadBoi, and more showed off this new iteration of SP5DER, and Mariah the Scientist closed the show wearing a floor-length cow print coat and a SP5DER bikini top.
