According to Hasbro CEO Chris Cocks, Saber Interactive is gearing up to develop a new game based on one of Hasbro’s well-known intellectual properties. The team behind Space Marine 2 will reportedly bring their skills to the table, contributing as part of the numerous collaborations that Hasbro has planned.
As reported by Polygon, during a recent earnings meeting on February 20th, Cocks hinted at a collaboration between Hasbro and Saber Interactive to create a new game based on an IP that he personally admires. However, the specific franchise that Saber will be working on remains undisclosed. He described the project as offering “a thrilling single-player experience along with exceptional multiplayer functionality, leveraging Saber’s Swarm technology.”
Hasbro experienced a significant triumph with Baldur’s Gate 3 as the role-playing game was modeled after Dungeons & Dragons. Since they secured a licensing agreement, they were able to enjoy the benefits stemming from Larian Studios’ success.
There seems to be much speculation about what Saber Interactive might be developing next. Many enthusiasts are leaning towards the idea of a Transformers game, considering the franchise’s rich history in video gaming and its beloved titles like Transformers: War for Cybertron, which is deeply admired by fans.

There’s another possibility that we might be developing a G.I Joe game as well. However, since developer Atomic Arcade is focusing on a Snake Eyes game, it’s unlikely that they would simultaneously work on a Saber project directly competing against another studio in the same field.
Perhaps it was Saber’s innovative approach to transforming a tabletop game like Warhammer that caught Hasbro’s attention. Instead, how about developing an action RPG based on Dungeons & Dragons? Or even more intriguingly, a third-person shooter version of Monopoly, where players must actively seize the assets of opponents who are overwhelmed with debt as they struggle to stay afloat?
Regardless, it’s intriguing to find out what Saber Interactive and Hasbro are developing, but given the newness of their partnership, don’t anticipate updates right away. With careful execution, they might be holding another successful project.
