The latest installment of Spider-Man, titled “Brand New Day,” is introducing another beloved character to its roster as production on the Phase 6 film moves forward.
Under the leadership of newcomer to Spidey films, Destin Daniel Cretton (renowned for his work on Shang-Chi), Spider-Man 4 is poised to be one of the most significant movies in Marvel’s Phase 6 lineup. It will continue the storyline initiated by 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home, which represented the MCU’s first genuine incorporation of live-action multiverse characters.
As the initial Marvel Cinematic Universe film following “Avengers: Doomsday“, there’s a lot of anticipation for how Spider-Man and his associates will proceed once people no longer remember Peter Parker. Although specific plot points are yet to be finalized, the ensemble cast for the sequel is gradually coming together.
Every Cast Member Reported for Spider-Man 4
J.K. Simmons – J. Jonah Jameson
Based on reports by source Daniel Richtman, it appears that Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios are planning to feature J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson in the 2026 movie titled “Spider-Man: Fresh Start.
In a mid-credits scene of the 2019 movie “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” Simmons first appeared as the Daily Bugle journalist. He then played the same character again in the 2021 film “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” With “Spider-Man 4” on the horizon, this will be his third project within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Fans will be familiar with Simmons playing the character of Jameson, which he originated in Sam Raimi’s initial “Spider-Man” trilogy. He has since reprised this role through voiceovers in various animated productions, with a notable appearance in “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” released in 2023.
Even though Jameson is currently oblivious to Spider-Man’s hidden identity, it’s clear that he will continue to relentlessly pursue the web-slinger following the climactic battle in No Way Home. Given the extensive damage visible at the Statue of Liberty, there’s no shortage of negative coverage for Spidey’s harshest critic to exploit.
Although it’s uncertain how substantial Jameson’s part might be in “Spider-Man 4”, rest assured that he will leave a mark, striving hard to bring Spider-Man to account.
Tom Holland – Peter Parker/Spider-Man
It comes as no shock that Tom Holland will reprise his role as Peter Parker in Spider-Man 4, donning a freshly created ensemble of red and blue fabric. This marks his seventh appearance as the MCU’s Spider-Man, having previously starred in the initial three standalone Spidey films, the last two Avengers movies, and Captain America: Civil War.
Previously, fans witnessed Holland joining forces with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s versions of Spider-Man, battling five villains from various Marvel universes. Currently, due to a spell by Doctor Strange, the world is oblivious to Peter’s identity as he strives to resume his life as an undercover hero.
At present, specifics about Peter’s role in “Brand New Day” are being tightly guarded, but it’s anticipated that he’ll encounter a lot of action and peril. He’ll strive to protect New York City from harm, especially with the possibility of fresh interdimensional threats emerging on the scene.
Zendaya – MJ
In her fourth Marvel Cinematic Universe film, Zendaya – Holland’s real-life partner – will return, having already established herself as Michelle Jones-Watson (MJ). She has shared significant screen time with Peter Parker in the initial three Spider-Man films and was romantically involved with him throughout most of No Way Home, until a spell by Strange altered things.
Latest updates on Zendaya’s character in “Brand New Day” suggest a smaller role compared to what fans are accustomed to. This isn’t entirely unexpected given her lack of knowledge about her ex-boyfriend, and it represents a significant shift in pace for the renowned actress.
There’s a lot of anticipation among fans that Michael Jackson and Peter might rebuild their friendship, yet it remains unclear if their bond will ever return to the level it once was during the original trilogy.
Sadie Sink
I’m thrilled to be part of the ensemble alongside Holland and Zendaya, making my Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in “Spider-Man: Brand New Day”. Notably, this project also marks the arrival of Sadie Sink from “Stranger Things”. It’s going to be an exciting ride!
Although specifics about Sink’s character in Spider-Man 4 are scarce, there’s speculation that she will be one of the main actors. Characters such as Gwen Stacy, Black Cat, Firestar, and Kitty Pryde have been mentioned by fans as potential roles for her, ranging from ground-level characters to powerful heroes.
At this point, neither Sony nor Marvel has revealed her character’s part yet, but we can expect further information about it to be disclosed in the forthcoming weeks and months.
