Squid Game Season 2 Gets Special Trailer & Answers Fan Theories

As a seasoned movie buff with over three decades of binge-watching under my belt, I must say that the return of “Squid Game” is like a sweet symphony to my weary eyes. The first season was an absolute masterpiece, a rollercoaster ride of suspense, emotion, and pure adrenaline.

Are you excited about playing along? Stranger Things makes its comeback later this year, and during the Netflix Geeked Week event, we got a sneak peek at Season 2 with a brand new trailer and poster, which you can see below. The initial season, launched in September 2021 to universal praise, soon took over pop culture, leaving fans eager for more.

In addition to the fresh video clips, Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, and Wi Ha-jun share their thoughts on fan predictions regarding what’s to come when Squid Game resumes for Season 2 in December. You can find the interview with these main cast members below.

The series titled Squid Game revolves around a competition involving 456 participants from various backgrounds, all heavily indebted, who engage in a series of classic games with lethal outcomes to potentially claim a 45.6 billion Won jackpot. Conceived by Hwang Dong-hyuk, this production garnered acclaim across the board and was showered with several accolades, including 14 Primetime Emmy Award nominations. Lee Jung-jae was among the winners, taking home the award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

In the upcoming season of “Squid Game”, original cast members Lee Byung-hun, Gong Yoo, and Wi Ha-jun will endure more hardships. Joining them are newcomers Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-Neul, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, as well as Park Gyu-young, Jo Yu-ri, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Lee Jin-uk, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, and Won Ji-an. As of now, specific details about “Squid Game” Season 2 are scarce; however, creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has hinted that the story will delve into the enigmatic character of the Front Man, who is portrayed by Lee Byung-hun from the film “I Saw the Devil”.

As we anxiously look forward to the premiere of Squid Game Season 2, it’s been officially confirmed that the story will conclude with Season 3. Earlier reports suggest that both seasons 2 and 3 were filmed simultaneously, so fortunately, we won’t have too long a wait for the next installment.

Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk shared some tantalizing hints about future installments of the hit series, ‘Squid Game’, during a previous interview.

Three years have passed since Season 1 was greeted with global acclaim and a series of events beyond expectation. On the day we started filming Season 2, I found myself thinking, ‘I can’t believe I’m returning to the realm of Squid Game.’ It felt almost unreal. I wonder how it will seem for you to revisit Squid Game after three years as well.

In Season 3, scheduled for release next year, Seong Gi-hun resumes his participation in the deadly games he vowed to avenge at the end of Season 1. However, it appears that Front Man won’t be an easy adversary this time around. The intense confrontation between their realms will escalate towards the climax of the series finale. I’m eagerly anticipating how the initial concept of Squid Game develops and matures throughout the conclusion of this tale, ensuring another rollercoaster ride for the audience. We’ll strive to deliver an equally engaging experience!

The second season of the popular series “Squid Game” is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on December 26, 2024.
