Star-Studded Cast Joins Ridley Scott’s Epic Post-Apocalyptic Adventure!

Actors Josh Brolin, Margaret Qualley, and Guy Pearce are in the final stages of negotiations to join Jacob Elordi in Ridley Scott’s upcoming post-apocalyptic movie titled “The Dog Stars.” According to Deadline, this film is an adaptation of the 2012 novel with the same name by Peter Heller, and it is penned by Mark L. Smith (known for his works on “The Revenant” and “Twisters”). “The Dog Stars” is set to be Ridley Scott’s next project following the massive success of “Gladiator II,” which was released last year and has earned over $461 million globally.

In the story of “The Dog Stars“, we follow Hig (Elordi), a skilled pilot residing in Colorado after a global pandemic nearly eradicated Earth’s human populace. To put it simply, the summary of this intriguing novel goes like this: Hig navigates life amidst the devastation left by a catastrophic event that drastically reduced the number of people on our planet.

Hig’s wife has left, his companions have passed away, and he resides in an unused hangar at a tiny deserted airfield, along with his canine companion, Jasper, and a volatile, firearm-carrying recluse known as Bangley.

However, when an unexpected signal crackles through the radio of his 1956 Cessna, a voice sparks within him an ardent belief that a superior life lies beyond their strict boundaries. Driven by this conviction, he ventures beyond his limit and chases its fragmented transmission, discovering something that surpasses and disappoints all his expectations.

Brolin takes on the role of Bangley, while Qualley assumes the character of Cima, a young intern doctor. Pearce steps into the shoes of Pops, who is protective of his daughter Cima. This marks the second collaboration between Scott and both Brolin and Pearce; they previously worked together in Scott’s films, “American Gangster” and “Prometheus.” The filming is scheduled to start in Italy this April, with the Italian Dolomite region serving as a backdrop for the Great Plains and Rockies. At present, there is no specified release date.

Over the past year, Quelley has been making a name for herself as an up-and-coming talent.
