‘Star Trek’ Fans Rage Over ‘Black Mirror’ Twist! You Won’t Believe Why!

In exactly two weeks, the much-anticipated release of Black Mirror Season 7 on Netflix is just around the corner, but for those Star Trek enthusiasts eagerly waiting for a continuation of the “USS Callister” story in the episode titled “Polygon,” it’s time to adjust expectations. The long-awaited sequel will serve as the sixth and concluding episode of the new season, premiering on April 10, 2025.

In an interview with SFX Magazine (through GamesRadar), Charlie Brooker, the creator of “Black Mirror”, and director Toby Haynes discussed the upcoming episode titled “Polygon”. Unlike its predecessor “USS Callister” which was a tribute to the classic series “Star Trek”, “Polygon” is more reminiscent of “Return of the Jedi” in terms of its vibe. So, while the initial installment was inspired by Gene Roddenberry’s work, this sequel will offer a perspective similar to that of George Lucas’ Star Wars universe. As Brooker explained, “Obviously the first one was a nod to Star Trek and this one is slightly paying homage to Star Wars.

In a nutshell, the second installment will feature smaller planetary scales, include various explosions (pyrotechnics), and present a more expansive space scenario compared to the initial version.

We frequently asked ourselves, ‘What sets our idea apart?’ It’s peculiar how immersed they become, as if it’s not a game. To them, it seems genuine. Consequently, it unfolds with a grand scale, resembling Return of the Jedi or similar epic stories, given its authentic portrayal.
