Star Trek Is Rumored To Be Working With LEGO In 2025, And I Need To Start Saving Now

Star Trek enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating the upcoming Star Trek series and the first film in a while called Section 31. This could be an action-packed year for fans, and it might become even more exhilarating due to a rumor suggesting that the franchise is teaming up with the well-known toy manufacturer LEGO. The word on the street is that a set is being planned for release in 2025, and if this turns out to be true, I’ll have to start putting money aside immediately.

As a long-time fan of both LEGO and space exploration, I must admit that I have been eagerly awaiting a collaboration between these two worlds. LEGO has a rich history of partnering with popular intellectual properties (IPs), yet it seems that they have not yet ventured into the realm of space franchises. Rumors about such a partnership have been circulating, with YouTuber Max Baut hinting at the possibility. Given my own fascination with both LEGO and space, I can only imagine the incredible sets and play experiences this collaboration could bring to life. If these rumors prove true, I believe it will be a groundbreaking move for both LEGO and the space franchise involved, offering a unique and exciting opportunity for fans like myself to immerse ourselves in the wonders of both building and exploring the cosmos.

LEGO Is Rumored To Be Making A Set Tied To Star Trek: The Next Generation

It appears that there are whispers about LEGO releasing a Star Trek set, given that the LEGO Icons series typically focuses on iconic items from popular culture. If the rumors are true, fans can expect a 3,600-piece set featuring the Enterprise D, as seen in the classic Star Trek: The Next Generation series. Additionally, this set is said to come with figures of the entire bridge crew, such as Wesley Crusher, Guinan, and even Data’s cat Spot. However, it’s important to note that Tasha Yar is not included, as the set was designed after her character was written off the show.

To give you a heads-up, the highly recognized LEGO Millennium Falcon from Star Wars consists of approximately 5,197 pieces. This suggests that it will be quite an extensive build, providing it aligns with the rumors. I can’t predict the cost at this moment, but considering its complexity, it wouldn’t be surprising if it costs several hundred dollars or more. Oh, how wonderful it would be if we had Star Trek replicators to assemble the pieces effortlessly! Unfortunately, that technology remains elusive for now. If all goes as planned, the release of this set is tentatively scheduled for November 2025.

Could This Be The Start Of A Beautiful Collaboration?

Though a part of me is thrilled at the prospect of re-enacting some of the most mind-blowing scenes from Star Trek: The Next Generation using my LEGO set in the upcoming year, I can’t help but feel doubtful as well. As you may recall, these two entities haven’t worked together before, and it seems almost too perfect that the figures included in this set feature all the characters I could ever want and more. It feels like something that might be too good to actually happen.

If the claim is verified, there are plenty of other “Star Trek” series accessible via Paramount+ subscription, making LEGO sets a desirable alternative. Given actress Kate Mulgrew’s hints about returning in live-action, a Voyager set might be forthcoming. Additionally, I wouldn’t be taken aback if fans petition for a LEGO station set of Deep Space Nine, although constructing it without frequent breakage seems like quite the challenge.

It remains to be seen if LEGO will indeed release a Star Trek set next year, 2025. Until then, let’s look forward to the new movie and season of Strange New Worlds, which has become quite popular since its debut. If the rumor is true and this show becomes the next LEGO set, I would be thrilled as it was a fan-favorite following The Next Generation.
