The upcoming edition of the significant Star Wars fan convention hosted by Lucasfilm is set to occur in Los Angeles, aligning with the anniversary of the first Star Wars movie’s release. This information was revealed at this year’s event held in Tokyo, Japan.

The 17th Star Wars Celebration will take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center, a venue that has hosted this event before, specifically the sixth one back in May 2007, which celebrated the 30th anniversary of Star Wars.

For the first time since 2008, the Star Wars Celebration was held in Japan again in 2025, making it only the second time this event has taken place in Asia throughout its 25-year history. The Tokyo event was a record-breaker, selling out faster than any previous celebration and attracting over 105,000 attendees – an 8% increase from the 2023 London convention as per Lucasfilm records. This global phenomenon known as Star Wars drew in nearly half of its guests (47%) from Japan, with additional visitors coming from the United States (31%) and other countries within the Asia-Pacific region (55%). In total, enthusiasts journeyed to this event from 125 different nations, compared to just 64 for the previous edition.
