Star Wars Fans Are Getting One of the Best TV Shows For Free on YouTube!

Fans of Star Wars can now enjoy one of the franchise’s top series, Star Wars: Rebels, free of charge, as entire episodes are being posted on YouTube.

Initially focusing mainly on films (though there were exceptions here and there), the Star Wars universe has grown significantly to include numerous television series, with even more being added continuously.

As an eager fan, I’m thrilled to share that each week, fresh episodes of the captivating series “Andor” are dropping on Tuesdays, exclusively on Disney+. Moreover, mark your calendars for May 4th, as a sensational new animated installment titled “Tales of the Underworld” is all set to make its grand debut in the Tales series!

Star Wars Rebels Episodes Are Being Uploaded to YouTube for Free

Disney has made available, completely free of charge, the initial episode of Star Wars Rebels, titled “Spark of Rebellion: Part 1,” on their Star Wars Kids YouTube channel. This was done on April 18, and there are no advertisements preceding or interrupting the video.

It’s quite unexpected, given that Star Wars Rebels is often praised as one of the top-tier productions within the whole franchise, and there might be few who wouldn’t eagerly sign up for Disney+ just to catch this series.

Initially, only the first episode of Rebels was made available upon its debut, followed by a few days. Yet, a week later, on April 25th, Disney published Episode 2, “Spark of Rebellion: Part 2,” on the same YouTube channel where the initial episode was posted.

Once more, Episode 2 was ad-free, allowing viewers to enjoy it completely free of charge on YouTube, provided they have an account there.

With the debut of the first two episodes of Rebels on YouTube, some might be curious if more episodes will be uploaded in the future.

As a devoted film enthusiast, I can’t help but share my excitement about the Star Wars Kids YouTube channel. Tucked under the playlists tab, you’ll find a gem titled “Star Wars Rebels | Full Episodes Every Friday.” This playlist is also prominently displayed on the homepage, making it hard to miss. Each week, it delivers a new episode of this thrilling Star Wars series straight to my screen!

As a dedicated movie enthusiast and die-hard Star Wars fan, I’m thrilled to share that starting from now, we’ll be getting weekly doses of fresh Rebels episodes! These ad-free gems are destined for the Star Wars Kids channel, meaning the entire series will soon be at our fingertips.

Why Is Disney Uploading Star Wars Rebels for Free?

It’s somewhat unexpected that Disney would make the full episodes of one of the most beloved Star Wars shows available for free online, given that the entire series is usually accessible only through a subscription to Disney+ or through digital and physical purchases. In essence, by offering these episodes free of charge, Disney seems to be forgoing initial revenue.

Rebels” stands out as not just one of the finest Star Wars series, but arguably one of the most significant. While it might be considered the most crucial, this assessment could be debated.

As a die-hard Star Wars fan, I’d say if someone were to map out all the Star Wars projects ever made and highlight the connections between them, it’s quite likely that none would have as many links as the animated series, Star Wars: Rebels.

The narrative for Ahsoka and the broader MandoVerse wouldn’t be as rich and complex as it is today if not for the influence of Rebels. This series has significantly expanded Darth Vader’s storyline, making it more detailed than it would have been otherwise. Additionally, Hayden Christensen may not have reprised his role as Anakin Skywalker in the World Between Worlds without Rebels.

Eventually, it seems that Star Wars plans to make some of their episodes available for free on their Star Wars Kids YouTube channel, primarily for a couple of reasons. One such reason is to acquaint the channel’s subscribers with the Rebels series at no cost, in the hope that they may become interested in watching the rest of the series without having to wait for new episodes each week.

If someone isn’t already subscribed to Disney+ but watches content on a YouTube kids channel, they might consider signing up for Disney+ in order to gain access to the complete show. Alternatively, if it’s children’s content they are interested in, their parent might make the decision to subscribe to Disney+ to provide full access to the shows.

One additional motivation behind this move is to consistently expand our YouTube audience and attract more viewers. Growing our viewer count has its own merits, regardless of whether the viewers who watch specific episodes are contributing directly to our income at that moment.

If someone started streaming the episodes for free without ever signing up for Disney+ or similar services, it doesn’t necessarily mean they wouldn’t be interested in purchasing a Rebels action figure, a Chopper t-shirt, or perhaps even a replica lightsaber.

Essentially, Disney views adding Rebels to YouTube for free as a strategic long-term business move that they believe will be financially beneficial. Fortunately, this decision benefits all parties involved, as it exposes young fans to the best that Star Wars has to offer at its highest tier.
