Frequent television show creator Carlton Cuse and his son, Nick Cuse, are embarking on an adventure within the galaxy of Star Wars. They are in the initial stages of developing a new Star Wars series for Lucasfilm, according to sources who spoke with The Hollywood Reporter.
Carlton Cuse has an extensive list of productions under his belt, such as Bates Motel, The Strain, Jack Ryan, and the latest Netflix medical series Pulse. Meanwhile, Nick Cuse collaborated with Damon Lindelof, a fellow co-showrunner on Carlton’s show Lost, on Watchmen and The Leftovers. His credits also span Station Eleven and Masters of the Air.
Or, in a more conversational tone:
Carlton Cuse has quite a few shows to his name, like Bates Motel, The Strain, Jack Ryan, and Pulse on Netflix. On the other hand, Nick Cuse teamed up with his dad’s co-showrunner Damon Lindelof for Watchmen and The Leftovers, and he’s also worked on Station Eleven and Masters of the Air.
Details on the Star Wars project are being kept under wraps.
The news arrives just before the premiere of “Andor” season two and follows closely on the heels of Star Wars Celebration in Tokyo. During this event, Lucasfilm showcased a sneak peek at “The Mandalorian & Grogu” feature and disclosed the title for Shawn Levy’s movie starring Ryan Gosling, named “Star Wars: Starfighter”. Additionally, they shared fresh insights about season two of “Ahsoka”, such as the reappearance of Hayden Christensen, a beloved actor from the character Anakin Skywalker.
Following the success of “The Mandalorian” on Disney+ in 2019, which established Disney’s Lucasfilm and Marvel Studios as major players in TV shows, there has been a reduction in the production of their television series over the past few years. During the height of the streaming competition, new shows from both brands were frequently announced. However, this more calculated approach means that the potential Cuse show is the first new live-action “Star Wars” series to gain attention in quite some time.
Carlon Cuse has representation from both WME and Jackoway Austen, while Nick Cuse is represented by CAA. This information was initially shared by The Insider.
