State of Bliss: A New Beach Club Pops Up in Santa Barbara for Summer

Santa Barbara is adorning itself for summer with a fresh collaboration with the upscale event and beach rental service, Bliss Beach.

Famous for organizing oceanfront parties and creating intimate pop-up events on the beach, Bliss Beach has collaborated with Santa Barbara City to establish “The Barbara,” an elegantly designed dayclub situated along East Beach’s sandy coastline. Labeled as a “refined beach club for the American Riviera,” The Barbara commenced public access in May and will continue operation until October’s end.

Bliss Beach is renowned for its picturesque settings suitable for both small gatherings and grand events, providing options ranging from private cabanas to full meal setups directly on the beach. Although it has established locations in Manhattan Beach, Santa Monica, and Malibu, among others, The Barbara now expands Bliss Beach’s services to a fresh location, situated right beside the famous Cabrillo Pavilion.

At our Santa Barbara location, similar to other spots, visitors will have a range of options to pick from, such as chairs and sunshades, all the way up to complete canopies equipped with daybeds, tables, coolers, and games. The pricing begins at $20 per hour for the “Club Set,” which comes with two chairs, an umbrella, a side table adorned with flowers, a cooler, and two cups along with towels. For larger groups, the “Anacapa Cabana” is available, priced at $375 per hour and capable of accommodating up to 30 guests. It includes a row of club chairs, lounge chairs, an area rug, floor pillows, and more. Additionally, Bliss Beach welcomes private parties and events for up to 40 people at this location. Notably, locals can enjoy a 10% discount with valid Santa Barbara identification.

At The Barbara, visitors are welcome to bring their own meals and drinks, but we also have a well-stocked convenience store on site, filled with snacks, beverages, sunscreen, and assorted beach gear for your day’s enjoyment. Bliss Beach additionally provides catering services for events, featuring pre-order options like charcuterie boards, vegetable trays, and other tasty finger foods. Additional amenities include a shared lounge, dining areas, and a play zone specifically designed for children.

At The Barbara, just like any regular beach club, you’ll find staff ready to assist in setting up your area. There’s even a special desk, acting much like a sand-based concierge, to help facilitate your needs. All beach attendant services come included and free of charge with every setup.

Bliss Beach explains that The Barbara is crafted to reflect “the aesthetics, allure, and essence of Santa Barbara,” providing visitors with a “relaxing, scenic, and cozy experience at the beach.
