The fifth season of Stranger Things appears to be primarily focusing on the story of Will Byers (played by Noah Schnapp), and this shift comes with a significant change. Since its debut nearly a decade ago, we’ve seen the younger characters develop and transform in extraordinary ways. Interestingly, despite initiating the narrative with his disappearance, Will has often played a secondary role in previous seasons, as his link to the Upside Down and its creatures remains incompletely explored, and his distinct trauma has kept him apart from his friends.
Currently, with Stranger Things approaching its climactic finale and Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) plotting to take control of Hawkins, it seems that Will Byers’ bond with the Upside Down may prove crucial than ever before. In the latest teaser for season 5 of Stranger Things, which was unveiled at TUDUM this year, we find Will Byers taking center stage; the final frame carries a spine-tingling warning to his companions and viewers alike. Beyond this ominous message, however, there’s something intriguing about Will’s transformation in the fresh footage – it appears that he has finally received a much-needed makeover.
Stranger Things Season 5 Finally Gave Will A Good Haircut
Over time, viewers of “Stranger Things” have expressed a common complaint about Will Byers’ character: his consistently bad haircut, which appears to be quite unflattering. Despite Joyce Byers’ (Winona Ryder) deep affection for her sons, it seems questionable that she would insist on giving her traumatized boy such a rigid, bowl-like hairstyle every year. While it might have been understandable when he was a 12-year-old lost in the woods of the Upside Down, it became much more problematic when he turned 15 and had to start at a new school in a different town.
It’s great to see that Will’s notorious hairstyle appears to be a thing of the past, as recent footage shows a more casual, authentic style for Schnapp’s character. Whether it’s because Joyce is too preoccupied with stress to attend to her youngest son’s hair or if Will has decided to assert his own preference for a new look, this change is definitely an improvement. Online commentators on YouTube were equally thrilled by the transformation, with one user exclaiming, “‘FINALLY, WILL GETS A DECENT HAIRCUT!!’” and hundreds more expressing their delight under Netflix’s release date video.
Why Will’s Character Needs To Be A Major Aspect Of Stranger Things Season 5
Now is the perfect time for Will Byers to step into the limelight, regardless of his latest hairstyle change. Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) might have first created a gateway to the dreadful Upside Down, but it was only because Will vanished that she encountered The Party. Their lives are deeply connected due to their shared link to this terrifying realm. As time has passed, Will’s ability to perceive danger, particularly danger related to the Upside Down, has become more acute. It remains to be seen if these abilities will further evolve now that portals between the two realms have been ripped apart.
Netflix’s official summary hints that “Stranger Things” season 5 will bring us back to the night when Will initially disappeared, marking a return to where it all began. This could potentially be the final destination in the storyline. With Eleven going into hiding due to the government’s relentless pursuit, Will might be the key to uncovering Vecna’s plans and finding a way to permanently eliminate the Upside Down.
1987’s autumn. Hawkins bears the wounds of Rifts’ opening, and we, my comrades, are driven by a shared purpose: locate and eliminate Vecna. Yet, he seems to have vanished, his whereabouts and intentions shrouded in mystery. Worsening our quest, the authorities have enforced a military lockdown on the town, escalating their pursuit of Eleven, forcing her back into concealment once more. As Will’s disappearance anniversary draws near, so does an ominous, familiar sense of dread. The final confrontation is fast approaching — and with it, a darkness far surpassing any we have encountered before. To vanquish this terror, we must stand united, our full team assembled one last time.
Numerous characters from the hit series “Stranger Things” have shone in memorable scenes and moments. For instance, Eleven sealing the gate in season 2, Max (Sadie Sink) evading Vecna’s grasp in season 4, and Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) performing his guitar in the Upside Down. There are far too many to mention here, but it’s high time Will Byers experiences an epic moment of his own. As we approach this final, nerve-wracking round of “Stranger Things”, let’s hope that Will Byers gets the chance to prove his mettle and make us proud.
The fifth season of Stranger Things will come out in three installments: first on November 26th, then on Christmas Day (December 25th), and finally on New Year’s Eve (December 31st). You can watch it exclusively on Netflix.
