After a run of three consecutive weeks as the top streamed show on Nielsen’s overall chart, Netflix’s Squid Game has now handed over its title.
This week, Netflix’s action-packed thriller starring Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz, titled “Back In Action“, took the leading position with a view time of 1.5 billion minutes, according to Nielsen’s update on Thursday. On the other hand, Squid Game, which previously held the top spot, dropped to number 4 on the overall streaming chart with a view time of 1.25 billion minutes during the period of January 13th to January 19th, as reported by Nielsen in their latest data compilation.
Simultaneously, the series “Landman” featuring Billy Bob Thornton continued its success with a total of 1.05 billion minutes watched, making it the only Paramount+ show aside from “Dexter” (a library title) to appear in the top 5 this week on either the TV or movie rankings.

Discussing popular shows that have a strong Western influence, Peter Berg’s “American Primeval” climbed up to second place on the overall viewing chart last week, having been watched for a total of 1.41 billion minutes. Meanwhile, Apple TV+’s “Severance,” which premiered its second season on January 17th, secured the fourth spot on the original series chart with approximately 589 million minutes viewed.
Last week’s top movie, Kevin Costner’s Western epic “Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1”, dropped to eighth place in the rankings, with a total of 167 million viewing minutes. Following “Back In Action,” Netflix’s French film “Ad Vitam” climbed to second place on the movie chart, attracting 379 million viewing minutes.
