Streaming Ratings: ‘Lost’ Hits No. 1 Among Library Series

As a seasoned gamer and a devoted binge-watcher, I must say that the recent surge in viewership of “Lost” has brought back some nostalgic feelings. It was indeed a thrill to see the series take the top spot among all acquired shows with 1.03 billion minutes viewed!

Streaming viewers in the week of Oct. 21-27 made the following decision: We have to go back.

Last week, viewings of the TV show “Lost” on platforms like Hulu and Netflix reached a peak, leading all acquired series with an impressive 1.03 billion minutes watched in the U.S., as reported by Nielsen. Originally airing on ABC, this series celebrated its 20th anniversary since its premiere in September, placing it second among all titles overall.

Week after week, I found myself captivated by none other than “The Lincoln Lawyer,” which held the number one spot for the second consecutive week. For the very first time in its three seasons, it surpassed the 2 billion-minute mark (2.03 billion)! Each episode, based on Michael Connelly’s novels, seems to get even more engaging, with a whopping 24% increase in viewership from one week to the next.

During its first week, Tyler Perry’s Netflix series “Beauty in Black” was a major hit, racking up an impressive 740 million minutes of view time. This placed it third among all original series, trailing only “The Lincoln Lawyer” and “Love Is Blind,” which clocked in at 866 million minutes. Additionally, the Australian drama “Territory,” reminiscent of “Yellowstone,” made its debut on Netflix with 429 million minutes watched during its first week.

For two consecutive weeks, Anna Kendrick’s directorial debut, “Woman of the Hour,” held the top spot in movie rankings, amassing an impressive total of 653 million viewing minutes. This figure represents a significant 17.5% increase from its initial premiere week.

Nielsen’s streaming rankings exclusively account for viewing on traditional TV screens and exclude minutes spent streaming on computers or mobile devices. These ratings only quantify viewership within the United States, disregarding audiences in other countries. The top streaming content from October 21-27, 2024, is listed below.
