As a seasoned movie buff with decades of cinematic adventures under my belt, I must say that the anticipation for Stree 2 is as palpable as the chilling wind from the eponymous ghost town itself! The U/A rating and runtime details only fuel the excitement, making the countdown to August 15 feel like an eternity.
Movie titled Stree 2, featuring Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee, and Aparshakti Khurrana, is highly anticipated for its release in 2024. With the release date approaching, Amar Kaushik’s directorial has been certified by CBFC with a U/A rating. Additionally, the running time of the film has already been announced before its anticipated clash with Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein.
According to a report from Bollywood Hungama, the movie Stree 2 received a U/A rating from the Central Board of Film Certification on August 8, 2024, prior to its premiere in theaters.
As an absolutely smitten fan, I can’t contain my excitement when I learned that the movie featuring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao is a whopping 149 minutes and 29 seconds long! That equals 2 hours, 29 minutes, and 29 seconds of pure magic on screen. Every second of that runtime only heightens my anticipation for this unmissable cinematic experience.
The trailer features the renowned Chanderi gang encountering a tense, formidable enemy named Sarkata. Shraddha, Vicky’s (Rajkummar) romantic interest, reappears; however, they face an unexpected hurdle as Sarkata plans to kidnap all the women from the village. In response, Vicky assumes the role of Chanderi’s prince, resolved on protecting both his lady love and the village women.
The trailer additionally features Tamannaah Bhatia in a brief role performing a dance sequence in the film. It’s recently been revealed that Varun Dhawan will also be appearing in a special part of Stree 2, following the release of a fresh song.
On their Instagram account today, June 14th, Maddock Films posted a video to announce that Stree 2 will be released on India’s Independence Day, August 15th. They accompanied the announcement with the caption, “Stree is coming back on this Independence Day!”
In an interview with Hindustan Times, director Amar Kaushik hinted at the potential for a third installment of the popular film “Stree”. He mentioned, “There might be more to come. There are still stories left untold and characters unexplored. A decision will be made after the release of Stree 2. It’s possible that we could see Stree 3, 4, and 5 in the future.”
Significantly, Stree 2 is scheduled to go head-to-head with the film Pushpa 2 starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, as well as Khel Khel Mein featuring Akshay Kumar, Aditya Seal, Ammy Virk, Taapsee Pannu, Fardeen Khan, Pragya Jaiswal, and Vaani Kapoor.
