Street Fighter 6 For Switch 2 Brings Back Amiibo in a Huge Way

Street Fighter 6 marks the debut of a significant fighting game on Nintendo’s upcoming console, Switch 2. It has been confirmed that Amiibo remains an integral part of Nintendo’s broader plan. Some fans were uncertain if Amiibo would remain relevant with the release of this new system, but it appears that the company continues to find value in it. What’s surprising is that there will be new Amiibo figures and cards, reviving these collectibles in a massive manner once again.

In the upcoming release of Nintendo’s latest console, the trio – Luke, Jamie, and Kimberly – will acquire the Amiibo figures. Currently, only three Amiibo figures have been announced, but there are expected to be 22 cards in total, possibly showcasing the entire roster. Highlighting some of the game’s fresh faces, who boast a dedicated fanbase, seems fitting as they are newcomers.

It’s surprising that Ryu and Chun-Li’s new designs in Street Fighter 6 don’t have corresponding Amiibos yet. However, since Ryu already has an Amiibo from his appearance in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Ken does too, it’s possible that they might receive new ones eventually, but we’ll have to wait a while for that.

Players who opt for Street Fighter 6 on the yet-to-be-released Nintendo Switch 2 can anticipate enjoying every character from the initial two Season Passes. Elena, who is scheduled for release soon, adds to the game’s completeness at launch. With a promising start offering both passes simultaneously, we believe this version will be the most comprehensive yet. Future DLC additions are expected, but the early inclusion of both Season Passes sets an impressive foundation for Street Fighter 6 on Switch 2.

Street Fighter 6 is going to be a launch game for the Nintendo Switch 2, coming out on June 5.
