Student Of The Year 3: Shanaya Kapoor to romance THIS TV star in Karan Johar’s romantic drama? Here’s what we know

The eagerly awaited third part of Student of the Year is being developed, and news about the cast for this online streaming venture continues to create ripples occasionally. It was recently announced that Shanaya Kapoor, daughter of Sanjay and Maheep Kapoor, will take on the female lead role. However, details have emerged regarding one of the male leads in Karan Johar’s upcoming production, as reported by News18.

Based on reports from the publication’s sources, TV star Tusharr Khanna has tried out for a role opposite Shanaya Kapoor in an upcoming project. If chosen, Tusharr will share romantic scenes with Kapoor, and there is currently no announced male co-lead for the production.

For some time now, tryouts for the main male character have been ongoing. Tusharr was among those who auditioned and his performance left a positive impression on the casting team. They’re currently contemplating offering him the role, but as of yet, no decision has been made officially.

When contacted for a comment by the outlet, Khanna reportedly chose to maintain ambiguity.

For those unfamiliar, Tusharr has gained recognition for his roles on television series like Naagin and Piya Albela. Last year marked his entrance into Bollywood with the film Starfish, but its box office performance was disappointing. If he were to be chosen for a popular franchise, it could significantly boost his career since Karan Johar and Dharma Productions are involved in its production.

The Student of the Year series has played a significant role in introducing numerous talents to Bollywood. In 2012, their first movie served as the debut for Alia Bhatt, Sidharth Malhotra, and Varun Dhawan, who have all risen to become top-tier stars within the industry. The second installment, Student of the Year 2, came out in 2019 and introduced Ananya Panday, Tara Sutaria, and Tiger Shroff (Shroff was already established, while the actresses were newcomers). Aditya Seal also played a prominent role in this film.

12 months ago, Johar marked 12 years since winning Student of the Year by posting a touching Instagram tribute. “Today is unique and special!!! It’s been 12 years, and I reflect on the movie I joined for fun. And what a fun time it was! #SOTY,” he wrote.
