- Subnautica brings deep sea survival on an alien world to mobile
- Experience a dense storyline, survive the deeps and even create your own sub!
- Horror and wonder collide in equal measure in the depths
Among the chronicles of survival-gaming, there are not many tales as legendary as Subnautica. Over a decade since its initial release into early access, I struggle to name anything else that captures an alien underwater realm quite like it does. Now, you have the chance to immerse yourself in this deep-sea adventure as Subnautica is now available for purchase on mobile!
Upon an abrupt collision of the interstellar vessel Aurora on planet 4546B, you find yourself isolated on a nearly entirely water-covered extraterrestrial landscape. Your sole companions are a functional AI and a sophisticated fabricator capable of producing necessities for survival, provided you have the requisite resources.
The goal here is simple: To endure in this world where life ranges from tiny guppies to the terrifying Leviathan-class predators lurking deep within the oceans. This will require you to invent new tools, collect resources, and uncover blueprints so that you can create essential items such as a survival knife, improved flippers, all the way up to your very own personal submarine.
Gone fishin’
Subnautica comes with both the original survival mode, as well as freedom and creative mode for a more laid-back experience. Content-wise it’s jam-packed with numerous undersea biomes to explore, tools and craft to discover, and an entire enigmatic storyline that deals with the fact that 4546B may not be as uninhabited as it first seems.
I highly recommend Subnautica; its stunning underwater visuals might prompt you to use a high-end gaming device. However, it’s the enjoyable gameplay that will keep you engaged for hours, making even the longest journeys seem brief!
