‘Sugar,’ Starring Colin Farrell, Renewed for Season 2 at Apple TV+

As a seasoned gamer of the television world, I can’t help but feel a surge of anticipation upon hearing the news that Apple TV+ is renewing “Sugar” for another season. The first season was a thrilling rollercoaster ride, with its twists and turns keeping me on the edge of my seat, and I can hardly wait to see what’s next in store for Detective John Sugar.

Apple TV+ wants another helping of Sugar.

I’m thrilled to announce that my favorite tech giant has renewed the streaming service for another season of the captivating drama, “Detective John Sugar,” with Colin Farrell brilliantly portraying the title role. The first season saw Detective Sugar on a gripping quest to find a missing woman, and it ended with a major twist that paves the way for intriguing developments in season two.

It’s been truly amazing to witness global audiences loving ‘Sugar,’ and we’re eagerly anticipating a fresh new season,” stated executive producers Audrey Chon and Simon Kinberg. “We owe a big thank you to our collaborators at Apple for their backing, our showrunner Sam Catlin, the talented Colin Farrell, and most importantly, our viewers. We can hardly wait to bring John Sugar back into action again.

Matt Cherniss, Apple TV+’s programming head, stated, “Ever since its debut, audiences have been hooked by the enigmas and surprises of Sugar, with a stunning portrayal by Colin Farrell as the focal point. Colin Farrell, Simon Kinberg, Audrey Chon, and their team have masterfully combined genres to produce an engaging, must-watch series that leaves viewers on the edge of their seats, and we can’t wait to discover what happens to Detective John Sugar in season two.

In the gaming world of my favorite show, I dived into the first season in April and wrapped it up by May 17, completing its eight thrilling episodes. The makers have announced that season two will find Sugar back on the streets of L.A., taking on another missing-persons case. At the same time, he’ll keep searching for clues about his long-lost sister – a mystery I can’t wait to unravel alongside him!

Farrell, being not only the executive producer of “Sugar“, but also having a notable role, currently has two popular television series on air. He is featured in “The Penguin” on HBO, which has garnered significant viewership for its initial two episodes.

In the world of gaming, I’m thrilled to share that Season One of my favorite show, Sugar, had an impressive cast including Kirby, Amy Ryan, James Cromwell, Anna Gunn, Dennis Boutsikaris, Nate Corddry, Sydney Chandler, and Alex Hernandez. It remains a mystery whether we’ll see these talented actors reappear in Season Two.

For the second season of the show, Catlin (known for his work on ‘Breaking Bad’ and ‘Preacher’), will serve as the showrunner and executive produce through Short Drive Entertainment. On the other hand, Chon and Kinberg, holding an overall deal with Apple TV+, will also act as executive producers alongside Farrell, Scott Greenberg and Chip Vucelich, for Genre Films. The series was originally created by Mark Protosevich.
