Suits LA Is Bringing Back Another Original Series Alum After Gabriel Macht, And I Have Just One Complaint

In the 2025 TV lineup, “Suits LA” on NBC has already aired two episodes, and fans of the original show are eagerly anticipating Gabriel Macht‘s debut as Harvey Specter. The latest positive update is that series creator Aaron Korsh is keeping his word about more original characters returning, with Rick Hoffman confirmed to reprise his role as Louis Litt. However, I have one minor gripe regarding this exciting news.

Rick Hoffman is scheduled to make an appearance in a single episode during the first season of “Suits LA,” as reported by Deadline, but if the spinoff gets renewed for another season on NBC, he might show up in additional episodes. This news brings a potential update for fans of Louis Litt who were eager to learn more about his post-2019 activities after the conclusion of the original series. Unfortunately, it appears that Hoffman and Gabriel Macht will not be appearing together in the same episode; Macht is set to feature in three episodes overall. It seems there won’t be a reunion for Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) and Louis Litt this season!

It’s still uncertain what causes Harvey to return, but creator Aaron Korsh hinted that Mike Ross’ character seems fitting from a narrative perspective. I can’t wait to see what will transpire in this episode, and the potential for more episodes in a second season indicates that the story might not end after Louis’ appearance. Fingers crossed that Rick Hoffman says “You just got Litt up” at some point, for the benefit of all fans watching the spinoff despite mixed feelings about the pilot.

It’s important to mention that “Suits LA” is not simply a reboot of Suits set in Los Angeles instead of New York City. Unlike the corporate law firm from the original series, where characters like Harvey, Louis, Mike, Donna, and others worked, Ted Black (played by Stephen Amell) is transitioning from a federal prosecutor to an entertainment lawyer. As of now, only two episodes have been aired on NBC, with more available through a Peacock subscription. The future of this Suits spinoff remains uncertain, considering Gina Torres’ Pearson only lasted for one season.

Indeed, it’s plausible that “LA” will have more enduring popularity than “Pearson,” given they both aired on USA with “Suits” still running. The allure of the series revival along with a broader network TV audience could be key factors. Moreover, the original cast members like Gabriel Macht and Rick Hoffman making guest appearances can only boost its appeal, although viewers might not expect Meghan Markle or Patrick J. Adams to reprise their roles as Rachel and Mike respectively, as Adams previously stated he was content with Mike’s final scene.

As a discerning movie critic, I must share with you that Rick Hoffman has yet to lock down a date for the return of Louis Litt in “Suits LA,” but fear not! Catch all-new episodes every Sunday at 9 p.m. ET, as NBC’s fresh lineup puts “Suits LA” ahead of its fellow newcomer, “Grosse Pointe Garden Society.” So, grab your popcorn and settle in for an exciting television experience!
