Suits Returns: Harvey’s Big Secret Revealed!

Warning: SPOILERS for the Suits LA episode “Bat Signal” are ahead!

Fans of the show Suits, it’s time for us to part ways with Harvey Specter… once more. We thought we’d only have to do this when Suits concluded its nine-season journey in 2019, but then it was revealed that Gabriel Macht would bring his character back in three episodes of Suits LA. The last and final installment of those episodes aired recently on the 2025 TV schedule, featuring Harvey significantly in both past and present day narratives of “Bat Signal.” During this time, we also received some long-awaited insights into what Harvey has been up to since Suits came to an end more than five years ago.

In summary, the “Bat Signal” signaled a significant turn of events for crime boss John Pellegrini. Instead of serving a life sentence, he was given 25 years in prison with parole eligibility after 15 years due to a change of heart by the judge. This unexpected outcome occurred following an emotional statement from Pellegrini after his conviction and the dismissal of racketeering charges. The dismissal took place (after a former colleague, Daniel Hardman from “Suits”, testified) because Harvey was compelled to take the stand and disclose that he had shared confidential financial files about the Pellegrini case with Ted Black, his associates, who would not have been privy to this information otherwise.

Currently, after Ted discovers that Pellegrini was to be released early from prison due to Harvey’s information, he and Ted devise a complex strategy involving Troy Winbush’s Kevin. This plan eventually results in Pellegrini returning to prison and the man working for the crime boss who murdered Ted’s brother, Eddie Black, spending the remainder of his life under constant threat while in witness protection. If you’d like to understand the details of this plot development, you can watch the episode with your Peacock subscription.

Subscribing to Peacock TV will grant you access to new episodes of Suits LA after their initial airing, along with all nine seasons of Suits. Moving on to Harvey Specter, it’s undoubtedly one of the most significant disclosures about his life beyond “Bat Signal” that he is a father! The viewers found this out when someone in Harvey’s phone, labeled as “My Boy,” texted him saying, “Daddy, when are you going to call?” Towards the end of the episode, Harvey admitted to Ted that he has a son, although he didn’t share the child’s name.

It seems plausible that Harvey’s son might be named Michael, as the character Mike Ross, played by Patrick J. Adams, was quite close to him on the original Suits. Whether this is true or not, I’m thrilled to learn that Sarah Rafferty’s Donna Paulsen, who married in the final episode of Suits, has become a parent! Even though Gabriel Macht has expressed doubts about returning for Suits LA, if the show continues for several seasons, perhaps he’ll reconsider and bring Rafferty along for at least one episode. This way, we could see Harvey and Donna with their son on screen together.

A significant detail about the current Harvey Specter was disclosed: His younger brother Marcus passed away from cancer a few years back. This revelation occurred approximately two years following the death of Billy Miller, who portrayed Marcus on Suits, at the age of 43. Inquiring about Ted’s experience with losing a sibling, Harvey asked if it ever gets less painful, to which Stephen Amell’s character responded, “It depends on the day.” Given that they parted amicably in “Bat Signal,” I hope that even if we don’t see Gabriel Macht on the show anymore, their friendship will continue to thrive.

Only four episodes remain in the first season of Suits LA, but it’s uncertain if NBC will renew it for a second season. For now, fans can look forward to more Suits characters, as Rick Hoffman is set to return as Louis Litt within the next few weeks in the spinoff series.
