As a die-hard fan of Patrick J. Adams and his exceptional acting skills, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia when I hear about the potential return of Michael Ross in the upcoming spinoff of Suits, titled Suits: LA. The character was instrumental in shaping the narrative of the series, and it would be a delight to see Adams reprise his role once more.
It’s possible that you were a fan of USA Network shows from the past and enjoyed watching series like “Royal Pains,” “Burn Notice,” and perhaps “Suits.” The latter has gained significant popularity again on Netflix and is now getting a spinoff called “Suits: LA,” with a cast that’s been gradually revealed. Even one of the original stars, Gabriel Macht, will reprise his role as Harvey in several episodes of the upcoming spinoff — but what about his co-conspirator? Recently, MovieWeb spoke with the talented Patrick J. Adams about his new movie and asked if he might consider reprising his “Suits” character, Michael Ross, at some point in the future.
Absolutely, if it seemed beneficial, logical, and useful for the story, I would consider it. However, I’m not entirely familiar with the plot of ‘Suits: LA’ and its characters, but if it appeared natural and enjoyable for all involved, I’d be eager to participate,” Adams explained.
That experience was a significant part of my journey, and I’m content to let it stay just as it is, appreciating its impact. To be honest, Aaron [Korsh] and I remain close, frequently catching up… So, in a way, the show feels like an extended family for me. If there’s a story worth sharing that comes up, I’m ready to contribute. But there’s no rush or pressure from my side.
Patrick J. Adams Elaborates on His Recent ‘Suits’ Comments
Adams recently explained the true reasons behind his departure from the original ‘Suits’ series, as mentioned in a podcast with Jesse Tyler Ferguson. He discussed his battles with alcohol and depression connected to the show, particularly during its later seasons. This leads us to wonder if Adams might be reluctant to portray future TV characters that require similar long-term commitments due to his experiences on ‘Suits’.
Adams shared with us that he expressed doubts about whether the type of long-term television commitment he signed up for, like a multi-year show contract, is still relevant in today’s TV landscape. He also mentioned his past struggles on ‘Suits’, which were partly due to his age and inexperience, as well as learning how to endure such work for an extended period. Furthermore, he highlighted the contrast between himself, who is now married to Troian (who was his girlfriend during ‘Suits’), and Troian’s situation at that time.
Adams continued, saying, “There were a lot of unexpected happenings within the context, things they don’t tell you about.
As a passionate film enthusiast, I can relate when I reflect on my journey in the world of entertainment. At 27, I didn’t receive a guidebook detailing the complexities that lay ahead for the subsequent five years. Instead, I found myself thrust into the industry, working tirelessly without any explicit roadmap. Each season was like a rollercoaster ride, ending with me wondering, “What just happened?” There was no one to explain the intricacies; you simply had to experience it yourself.
In his words, Adams admitted, “I’m a bit older now.” Over the years, he’s gained valuable insights into self-care, setting pace, preparation, and defining goals. He explained, “It’s an entirely different ballgame compared to before. I have more knowledge, so I’m ready for whatever comes my way.” Meanwhile, his latest film with Lionsgate, titled “Young Werther, is currently playing in theaters, available digitally, and on demand.
