As a devoted fan with over a decade of Supreme fandom under my belt, I can’t help but feel a wave of excitement washing over me! Finally, Supreme is making its way to more corners of Asia, and it feels like Christmas came early! With Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, Taiwan Region, and Singapore joining the fold, the world of streetwear just got a whole lot bigger.
Starting from October 26 at 10 a.m., Supreme is set to expand its online presence to various Asian regions such as Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, and Singapore.
Following its acquisition by the eyewear conglomerate EssilorLuxottica in July, the prominent streetwear brand is now expanding digitally. This French-Italian company bought Supreme from VF Corporation for $1.5 billion USD in cash, thus incorporating this New York-originated label into its growing list of brands such as Ray-Ban and Oakley.
As an avid follower, I’ve always admired how Supreme manages its retail stores across the US, Asia, and Europe, while effectively managing its online business in various global regions. This online presence is vital to their drops-based model success. Yet, until now, their online shop hasn’t been accessible in the Asian regions. But guess what? The wait is over!
This growth-boosting expansion refers to the well-known label established by James Jebbia, which aspires to flourish under the umbrella of EssilorLuxottica. Notably, Jebbia has endorsed this acquisition, stating that it will enable Supreme to concentrate on its brand, merchandise, and consumers – a sentiment reported by Business of Fashion. The transaction took place following VF Corporation’s acquisition of Supreme in 2020 for $2.1 billion USD, partnering with the Carlyle Group.
