Survivor Legend Coach Has A Conspiracy Theory About The Show’s Rewards, And He Might Be Onto Something

As a devoted Survivor fan and avid player of armchair strategy, I’ve spent countless hours analyzing every move made by the contestants on this iconic reality show. And let me tell you, few have left as lasting an impression on me as Benjamin “Coach” Wade. His charisma and storytelling abilities are unparalleled, even if some of his tales might be slightly embellished.

Fans and competitors of “Survivor” star Benjamin “Coach” Wade have questioned the truth behind some of his more outlandish tales. However, despite doubts, there’s something captivating about Coach that keeps people engaged. Personally, I find myself engrossed in a theory he shared in an interview – a theory that I strongly believe is true.

Approximately half a year ago, I engaged with The Dragon Slayer for an article exploration on how Survivor manages medical situations on the island. In the course of our discussion, the topic of alcohol during reward challenges surfaced. Coach proposed a theory that I find compelling, to the extent that I felt compelled to share it. According to him, when contestants triumph in challenges providing beer, wine, or mixed drinks, Jeff Probst and the producers supposedly offer beverages with minimal alcohol content. This notion would account for why the players don’t appear as intoxicated as expected, taking into consideration their limited food intake and extended absence from other alcohol sources. Here is a snippet of his statement:

In simpler terms, we received what seemed like alcoholic beverages as rewards, but none of us felt any intoxication. I believe the alcohol content is extremely low based on my experience. After going without alcohol for a week, I know exactly how it affects me. Yet, after abstaining for an entire month, the lack of noticeable intoxication or severe hangovers among us is puzzling. Despite the absence of labels, I can’t help but assume a low alcohol content for these drinks. I haven’t personally witnessed anyone getting drunk and suffering from a hangover afterwards.

Based on my extensive experience as a long-time fan of Survivor and observing the show closely for over a decade, I have noticed a recurring pattern during reward challenges. I must stress that I’m not claiming this is an absolute truth without Jeff Probst’s confirmation, but it seems highly plausible to me.

Survivor stands out among other reality shows since it’s unlikely the production team encourages contestants to get heavily intoxicated. A slight buzz during confessional interviews might lead to intriguing footage, but the potential danger of individuals becoming severely drunk near a fire is a risk that Survivor probably wants to avoid due to past incidents where sober participants have been injured.

The coach has participated in “Survivor” a total of three times and managed to reach the jury in each instance. He is undeniably one of the most iconic contestants in the show’s past, often mentioned fondly by contemporary Survivor players. Whether he will be included in “Survivor”‘s milestone 50th season, which will consist entirely of returning players, remains uncertain. However, I hope to see him on television again soon, perhaps in an upcoming season of “The Traitors,” where several cherished Survivor personalities are expected to appear in Season 3.
