As a devoted movie enthusiast with a soft spot for psychological thrillers and strong female protagonists, I am absolutely thrilled about Lionsgate’s upcoming release of “The Housemaid”. Having grown up on books by Freida McFadden, I can hardly contain my excitement to see this best-selling novel come to life on the big screen.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m all hyped up about “The Housemaid”, the nerve-wracking psychological thriller from the brilliant mind of Paul Feig. This time around, it’s Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried who are taking center stage. I can hardly wait to see what they bring to this gripping tale!
The movie version of Freida McFadden’s top-selling novel will debut on Christmas Day, 2025, marking a significant release date. The holiday season at year’s end is often a profitable period for films, as it can accommodate several movies in the market if they resonate with their intended audience.
Next year, we’ll have a significant opportunity to evaluate that theory as James Cameron’s anticipated third installment of Avatar titled “Avatar: Fire and Ash” is set to hit theaters by Disney, along with the family movie “The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants” from Paramount. Both movies are scheduled to premiere on December 19th.
The Housemaid is an ideal property when it comes to providing something for female moviegoers.
Feig is directing from an adapted script by Rebecca Sonnenshine.
The story revolves around a character named Millie (Sweeney), who secures employment as a housemaid for the affluent duo Nina (Seyfried) and Andrew (Brandon Sklenar). However, it’s later revealed that this couple harbors ominous mysteries. Michele Morrone is among the cast members.
The producers, Todd Lieberman from Hidden Pictures, as well as Feig and Laura Fischer from Feigco, are all involved in this project. Additionally, Sweeney, Seyfried, McFadden, and Alex Young serve as executive producers.
McFadden’s best-selling novel was first published in 2022.
