“Sydney has great jeans.”
This morning, I woke up excited to the unveiling of American Eagle’s fresh fall 2025 campaign featuring none other than Sydney Sweeney showcasing an array of denim pieces! To add a sweet touch, her adorable new German Shepherd pup, Sully, even made a special appearance in the campaign.
In her role as the campaign ambassador, Sweeney will be featured on 3D billboards nationwide, engaging with passersby, as well as on The Sphere in Las Vegas. A Snapchat lens will also be created, allowing Sweeney to communicate directly with users, and there will be AI-enabled “try-on” technology for customers to virtually try on jeans. Under this partnership, American Eagle will highlight an edited collection of Sweeney’s preferred items for customers to browse both online and in stores.
Beyond simply working together to showcase American Eagle merchandise, Sweeney joined forces with the design team to develop a standout item for autumn – the “Sydney Jean,” an exclusive piece derived from the Dreamy Drape collection. These jeans are embellished with a butterfly symbol, serving as a reminder of domestic violence awareness. In keeping with the theme, all profits from the sale of these jeans will be given to Crisis Text Line, a charitable organization offering free, confidential text-based mental health assistance and crisis intervention. This cause holds significant importance for Sweeney.
Sweeney remarks, “American Eagle just seems so effortlessly stylish. It’s got this great mix of being polished yet remaining true to who you are. I admire their dedication to producing items that boost your self-confidence and comfort. It’s not often you come across a brand that evolves with you, much like American Eagle has for decades. They’ve been by my side through every stage of my life.
Jennifer Foyle, president and executive creative officer of American Eagle, stated: “Our denim styles are innovative and versatile, mirroring how our customers wear them – mixed, matched, layered, and lived in. Sydney Sweeney’s charm takes center stage, while we provide the perfect wardrobe to complete a combination that exudes ease, attitude, and a touch of mischief.
This new partnership, styled to appear editorial and personal, is the latest project shared by Sweeney and her stylist, Molly Dickson. Notably, Molly also works with artists like Lana Del Rey, Keke Palmer, Sadie Sink, Ariana Greenblatt, Camila Mendes, among others.
Rooted in denim, AE asserts its dominance within the category by making a debut on the Exosphere of Sphere in Las Vegas for the first time. The campaign’s playful spirit will be amplified through innovative marketing techniques that challenge norms and grab attention. These tactics include 3D billboards that allow Sydney to engage with pedestrians, a Snapchat lens for direct communication between Sydney and Snapchat users, and AI-powered try-on technology, enabling customers to virtually test jeans themselves.
Sweeney continues to be a sought-after actress and producer, but in recent times, she has become exceptionally busy as a partner for various brands in Hollywood. Over the past year or so, she’s teamed up with Miu Miu, Jimmy Choo, Armani Beauty, Kerastase, Laneige, Samsung, Baskin Robbins, Hellman’s Mayonnaise, Dr. Squatch, Hey Dude, Bai and numerous others.
Further images from the Sweeney’s American Eagle ad campaign can be found below. In upcoming projects, Sweeney will appear in a biographical film about boxer Christy Martin titled ‘The Housemaid’, alongside Amanda Seyfried, and also return for the new season of ‘Euphoria’.
