As a long-time fan of Sydney Sweeney, I must say that her enthusiasm for returning to “Euphoria” is nothing short of infectious! It’s truly heartening to see an actress who cherishes her character and the family she’s built on set.
Sydney Sweeney is “very excited” to head back to Euphoria, the actress said this week.
“The star of ‘Anyone But You’ expressed great enthusiasm as they shared, ‘I can’t wait to get back into Cassie.’ For me, she is truly a unique and cherished character. I eagerly anticipate reuniting with my Euphoria co-stars,” they said to People.
Sweeney admitted that she’s unable to disclose any details regarding the highly anticipated (and controversial) third season of HBO’s series as she currently knows nothing about it. However, she expressed her enthusiasm for delving deeper into the complex and tumultuous aspects of her iconic character’s darker side.
“I love crazy Cassie, so the crazier, the better for me,” she said.
Earlier, Sweeney discussed his plans to come back to the series three years following the completion of filming for season two.
“She mentioned that there was a significant gap between season one and two, and with the recent time leap, it’s all fresh ground for her. She’s essentially figuring things out as she goes along and staying open to whatever may transpire. However, she’s also quite eager. She adores Cassie and finds her a captivating character to portray, so she can’t wait to see what unfolds in Cassie’s storyline.”
Nonetheless, she noted, going back to work alongside Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Hunter Schafer, and others remains a unique experience that holds a special place.
“From the start of my journey, it was this team who stood by me. Though we hailed from diverse backgrounds, we found unity amidst our shared struggles and growth. It’s comforting to know that I share this experience with a close-knit group. They’re walking a path similar to mine, making this community all the more special.”
Sweeney and fellow Euphoria actors have remained tight-lipped about Season 3, with the Madame Web actress previously stating in March that discussing the series is as nerve-wracking as talking about Marvel.
Moreover, in March, HBO declared that the filming of season three would be postponed indefinitely, allowing the cast to explore different projects. Later in July, the network revealed plans to start production in the early part of the following year.
