Sylvester Stallone Is Latest Celeb to Back Trump, Calls Him a “Second George Washington” at Gala

As a lifelong fan of Sylvester Stallone‘s action-packed films, I must admit that his latest public appearance left me utterly stunned. The man who brought Rocky Balboa and John Rambo to life has now entered the political arena with a bang, endorsing none other than President-elect Donald Trump as the “second George Washington.

At a gala event held at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida on Thursday evening, Sylvester Stallone became the latest Hollywood personality to voice support for President-elect Donald Trump, referring to him as a “second George Washington.

Stallone sang the praises of the incoming president at the America First Policy Institute Gala held in Palm Beach, comparing him to the titular character in his Oscar-winning film Rocky and Jesus Christ before Trump took to the stage. In publicly coming out as a supporter of Trump, the actor joined a short but growing list of celebrity supporters of the incoming president that includes Kelsey Grammer, Drea de Mateo and Jack Paul, among others. A majority of Hollywood players backed the truncated campaign of his rival, Democrat Kamala Harris. Her campaign relied on several stars as endorsers and entertainment at rallies and enlisted them in the vice president’s ground game in battleground states.

Stallone expressed that we’re dealing with an incredibly legendary figure,” he said to the audience at Mar-a-Lago. “I’ve always been fascinated by mythology, and this person seems too extraordinary to be real. It’s hard to imagine anyone else capable of achieving what they have, so I’m truly amazed.

Later on, Stallone likened Trump to one of the founders of the United States, suggesting that the actions and outcomes of these two significant leaders were similar in shaping our current world. He implied that both individuals played pivotal roles in history.

The 78-year-old actor remarked, “When George Washington protected his nation, he had no inkling that he’d transform the world.” If he hadn’t been there, it’s not hard to envision a different world. Surprisingly enough, we seem to have another George Washington.

In simpler terms, Stallone made a comparison to Trump and Jesus earlier on, by initially referencing the opening scene of Rocky. This scene starts with a picture of Jesus (as mentioned in the Bible) and then moves to a shot of Rocky being punched in a boxing ring while he fiercely fights back.

In that instant, he was selected for a special role, marking the start of our adventure. Something significant was about to unfold; this individual was destined for transformation and would impact others, much like President Trump, as the lead actor of the Paramount+ crime series, Tulsa King, expressed.

Trump soon arrived on stage and he and the action star shared an extended handshake.

Each year since its establishment in 2021, the America First Policy Institute Gala functions as a fundraiser for advancing former President Trump’s political vision. This nonprofit organization has been referred to as a potential future “White House” due to its close association with Trump and shares a similar agenda to the Heritage Institute’s Project 2025, which advocates policies like imposing tariffs on imports, lowering corporate taxes, defending religious liberty, and rolling back climate change initiatives.
