For many years, Sylvester Stallone has been a prominent figure in the film industry, appearing in major blockbusters and leading multiple franchises. The “Rocky” and “Rambo” series have ensured that his name will endure. However, it’s important to note that while he’s delivered Oscar-worthy performances, he’s also been involved in a fair share of less than stellar films, some of which are downright poor.
Art, being a matter of personal taste, seldom garners universal acclaim or disdain when it comes to films. This rule seems to apply to movies as well, and yet, surprisingly, Sylvester Stallone has managed to star in not just one, but two recent productions that have received no positive criticism whatsoever.
Alarum Is Stallone’s Latest Rotten Tomatoes Bomb
If you haven’t heard about Sylvester Stallone’s latest film titled “Alarum“, it seems many people share your sentiment. This direct-to-video release features Scott Eastwood, Willa Fitzgerald, and Mike Colter in leading roles. Interestingly, Stallone portrays an “aged, retired spy” character. Unfortunately, based on the 17 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, it appears that the movie may not be well-received, as every single review falls under the “rotten” category.
Although Alarum has far fewer reviews compared to a typical blockbuster movie, the absence of even mildly positive feedback from the limited reviews suggests that more favorable opinions might be scarce. Given this, it appears that not many people are eager to watch it. The curiosity arises: is Alarum superior or inferior to Stallone’s other film that has a 0% rating?
Stallone Had Another 0% Movie Just Two Months Ago
It might be wiser for Sylvester Stallone to avoid creating direct-to-video films with single-word titles starting with ‘A’, as his latest movie, Alarum, comes after the release of Armor in November. Although it has more reviews, a total of 23, it still holds the disappointing 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
Despite Sylvester Stallone’s TV career thriving, particularly with the hit series “Tulsa King” (streaming on Paramount+ and currently in its third season), his film endeavors seem to have faltered somewhat. His latest movie, “The Expendables 4”, while avoiding a dismal 0% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, garnered only modest praise from a mere 17 out of 124 critics who reviewed it positively.
It seems that there are several potential projects in the pipeline for Stallone, but it’s worth noting that they appear to be primarily low-budget action films, which may not garner significant viewership or exceptional reviews. However, we can only hope that his upcoming movies receive more positive feedback from both critics and audiences compared to recent releases.
