As a gamer with a heart full of empathy and a soul that cherishes poignant narratives, I’ve been eagerly waiting for a cinematic masterpiece that tugs at my emotional strings yet doesn’t leave me drowning in tears. Enter “My Eternal Summer”, a film that seems to have struck the perfect balance between tranquility and turmoil, simplicity and complexity.
Sylvia Le Fanu’s initial film, titled “My Eternal Summer,” is preparing for its global debut within the New Directors section at the San Sebastian International Film Festival. Now, they have released a promotional video, or teaser trailer.
Fifteen-year-old Fanny and her parents spend their summer at their vacation home, resuming familiar activities like reading, swimming, and walking. However, beneath this peaceful routine, there lies an undercurrent of unspoken sorrow; they are aware that it could be the last summer with her mother. As they strive to make the most of their remaining time together, the family treads carefully between enjoying the present and confronting the future.
In the preview, Fanny requests from her mom a suggestion of three words that best characterize her, through a personality test. Following her mother’s proposals, Fanny’s dad unexpectedly adds his two cents to the discussion.
Mads Lind Knudsen and Fanu collaborated on writing the script for a movie. This film features Kaya Toft Loholt, Maria Rossing, and Anders Mossling as the main actors.
Recently, TrustNordisk took on international distribution duties for a movie that Jeppe Wowk produced for Adomeit Film in Denmark. This production received backing from the Danish Filminstitute, FilmFyn, DR, Den Vestdanske Filmpulje, and the Create Europe Program – Media.
