Talent Management Merger: Grandview and Untitled Join Forces, Bankrolled by TPG

As a seasoned gamer who’s been navigating the ever-evolving landscape of Hollywood for decades, this latest move by Grandview and TPG piques my interest. The merger of these two titans promises to shake things up, much like a well-timed critical hit in a role-playing game.

Following a good deal of anticipation, the literary agency Grandview has now been formally purchased by the international investment company TPG. This acquisition will result in a merger between Grandview and the talent management firm Untitled, which is also owned by TPG.

The merged entity will go by the name Untitled. It’s also been announced that the entertainment-focused division of TPG, which they established over the summer upon acquiring a majority stake in Untitle, will be called Initial Group. In their latest statement, TPG mentioned that Grandview will strengthen Untitled’s work in talent representation.

As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share that Jeff Silver and Matt Rosen, the visionaries behind Grandview, are set to join forces with the founding partners of Untitled, Jason Weinberg and Stephanie Simon, as managing partners. This expansion also welcomes Merideth Bajana, Jeremy Platt, and Ben Rowe from Grandview, who will be working alongside Evan Hainey, Elise Konialian, Jennifer Levine, Jason Newman, Steven Nossokoff, and Alissa Vradenburg at Untitled. This merger promises a fusion of talents and expertise that I’m eager to see unfold!

Notable filmmakers such as Joseph Kosinski, Hiro Murai, Adam Wingard, and Dan Trachtenberg are part of Grandview’s esteemed roster of clients.

10 years ago, Silver and Rosen founded Grandview with the intention of creating a haven for artists and those who advocate for them. They are immensely proud of the culture they’ve nurtured, the community support they’ve received, and the storytellers they’ve collaborated with – the influential voices of their time. Their core values have consistently been Talent, Ambition, and Character. Jason and Stephanie have modeled Untitled after these same principles, and their dedication to their clients and peers is truly inspiring.

We joined forces with TPG and Michel earlier this year, which led us to discover a chance for growth. This opportunity will enable us to enhance our services for clients and establish fresh paths for cooperation,” commented Weinberg and Simon. “In Matt and Jeff, we discovered influential figures in literary management who also cultivated an energetic and innovative work environment. This environment has drawn some of the most progressive representatives over the past ten years. We’re looking forward to collaborating with the entire Grandview team and their clientele in the coming years.

In recent discussions, Grandview has been a focal point, with previous negotiations involving its potential acquisition by Anonymous Content. A year ago, Grandview’s associated production company, Automatik, combined forces with Range Media Partners.

Regarding TPG, they offloaded a significant portion of their ownership in CAA to Artémis last year. Under the leadership of CEO Michel Pratte, Initial Group is anticipated to make more purchases within the entertainment industry.

Eisner LLP served as legal advisor to Grandview.
