On a thrilling Thursday evening at the Kia Forum, pop sensation Tate McRae captivated swarms of enthusiasts with a dynamic launch party for her new album titled “So Close to What“.
The Inglewood arena’s parking lot played host to an incredible event, tailor-made for a McRae superfan: it offered photo opportunities, showcases of clothing, food trucks, and booths giving away goodies from American Express, Adidas, and Neutrogena – the latter being event sponsors.
it boasted photo opportunities, fashion displays, food trucks, and booths offering freebies from American Express, Adidas, and Neutrogena – companies who sponsored the event.
As a devoted McRae fan, I found myself among fellow enthusiasts, adorned in outfits inspired by the legend, donning hotpants and a jersey. We yearned for an opportunity to secure tickets priced at just $8, which were made available through Ticketmaster. This revenue was generously donated towards FireAid, an organization dedicated to aiding Los Angeles’ wildfire relief efforts. For those unable to attend in person, the event was broadcasted on TikTok, ensuring no one missed out on the excitement.
McRae stepped onto the stage around 9 pm, coinciding with the release of her latest album. She performed her recent hits “Sports car” and “It’s OK I’m OK.” The stage was illuminated by lights from cranes, creating an atmospheric setting. Addressing the crowd, the 21-year-old singer exclaimed, “Hey everyone, how’s it going?” and inquired if they were interested in hearing some new songs.
The artist unveiled numerous fresh tracks, among them her recently released hit “Revolving Door.” Excitedly, she shared with the audience that a music video for the song would be premiering later in the evening. McRae clarified that the central theme of the album revolved around falling in love anew, which appeared to be a hint towards her partnership with rapper The Kid LAROI, who is included on the record. Yesterday evening, the artist from Australia shared a heartfelt Instagram post featuring the two of them as they celebrated the album’s launch using hashtags such as “#proud” and “#boyfriend.
McRae additionally sang “Dear God,” “bloodonmyhands,” “Greenlight,” “You Broke Me First,” and “2 hands” prior to ending the performance with her popular track, “Greedy.
The singer from “So Close to What” is getting ready for her sold-out, 57-date “Miss Possessive” tour, which begins in Mexico City on March 18th. Along the way, she’ll visit cities like São Paulo, London, Amsterdam, Prague and New York before wrapping up at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles in November.
