In the upcoming thriller “Eleven Days,” directed by Peter Landesman, Taylor Kitsch will portray a Texas prison chief who finds himself in a tense hostage situation.
In 1974, Kitsch will portray Jim Estelle, the head of the Texas Department of Corrections, who is trying to resolve a hostage situation at the Huntsville Penitentiary. This crisis is orchestrated by Federico Carrasco, a notorious heroin kingpin, as part of a botched escape plan.

Estelle must navigate complex discussions with the hostage-takers’ leader and his associates to bring an end to the nerve-wracking standoff. The line between captor and victim, justice and survival, starts to fade as the siege continues for eleven grueling, terrifying days, as described by the film’s producers.
The screenplay was penned by Kevin Sheridan, with adjustments made by Landesman. The movie, titled Eleven Days, is adapted from the book Eleven Days in Hell: The 1974 Carrasco Prison Siege at Huntsville, Texas by William T. Harper. Production for this film is set to commence in Texas during September, with Vincent Newman and Vance Howard serving as producers.
Kitsch has recently graced Netflix’s limited series titled “American Primeval” and is set to appear in the upcoming prequel series “Dark Wolf“, a spinoff of the popular series “The Terminal List“, where he portrayed Ben Edwards. His additional credits include co-starring with Josh Brolin, Miles Teller, Jeff Bridges, and Jennifer Connelly in the film “Only the Brave“, as well as starring alongside Mark Ruffalo and Julia Roberts in the HBO TV movie titled “The Norman Heart“.
Landesman’s filmography encompasses movies such as ‘Concussion’, a 2015 football drama centered around player brain injuries featuring Will Smith, ‘Parkland’, and ‘Kill the Messenger’.
