The highly anticipated fourth season of “Ted Lasso” has been given the green light, and although star actor Jason Sudeikis is currently the only confirmed cast member returning, another significant role is set to be recast. After much anticipation and speculation for many months, it’s now official that the fourth season of this popular Apple TV+ sports comedy will air, with hints suggesting that Lasso will manage a women’s soccer (or football) team in the upcoming season.
As reported by Deadline, the character of Ted Lasso’s son, Henry Lasso, is being recast. Previously played by Gus Turner across Seasons 1 to 3, Henry was primarily seen on FaceTime calls from Kansas while his father coached AFC Richmond in the UK. However, as the soccer-loving Henry made some personal appearances, there’s a chance that his character could have a more significant role in Season 4, potentially introducing a fresh element for the show upon its return.
Currently, specifics about Ted Lasso Season 4 are mostly kept secret, however, during his latest interview on the New Heights Podcast, Jason Sudeikis shared some hints regarding future developments.
In the fourth season, the team at AFC Richmond starts to take risks without overthinking first, finding out that no matter their destination, it turns out to be the right place for them.
What Do We Know About ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4?
As a fan, I’m thrilled to share that Jason Sudeikis is set to return for the new season of the show. Rumor has it that some crucial cast members such as Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift might be joining him too. It’s exciting news!
In addition, Jack Burditt, renowned for his work on ‘Modern Family’ and ’30 Rock’, is joining us in Season 4 as an executive producer. Jason Sudeikis will also serve as an executive producer along with Brendan Hunt, who played Coach Beard. Toheeb Jimoh, Joe Kelly, Jane Becker, Jamie Lee, and Bill Wrubel are also on board as executive producers for this season.
Interestingly, Brett Goldstein will not only act but will also write and produce Season 4 alongside Leann Bowen. Isn’t that fantastic? I can hardly wait!
Debuting in 2020, the series Ted Lasso features Jason Sudeikis as the lead character, Ted Lasso. A former Saturday Night Live cast member, Ted Lasso is an American football coach who finds himself in an unexpected role – coaching a fictional English Premier League soccer team, AFC Richmond. Despite having no prior experience with soccer, Lasso accepts the job assigned by the team’s owner, Rebecca Welton, with ulterior motives to set him up for failure and take revenge on the previous owner. However, Ted’s endearing charm and positive outlook win over not only Rebecca but also the initially doubtful team members.
Created by Sudeikis in collaboration with Bill Lawrence from ‘Scrubs’, ‘Ted Lasso’ boasts a talented cast including Hannah Waddingham, Jeremy Swift, Phil Dunster, Brett Goldstein, Brendan Hunt, Nick Mohammed, Juno Temple, and Sarah Niles. The show has generally received positive reviews, though opinions were somewhat divided when it came to what was supposed to be the third and final season.
