‘Teen Titans’ Star Tara Strong Gives Update on Series Return: “We All Want to Do Season 6 Too”

As a veteran cartoon enthusiast who has been following the animated exploits of the Teen Titans since their inception, I must say that the prospect of a long-awaited sixth season is as exhilarating as a speeding T-Rex with rocket boosters. The cast’s enthusiasm for revisiting this iconic series and giving fans the satisfying conclusion they deserve is truly heartening.

For almost twenty years now, fans have been eagerly waiting for answers following the emotional cliffhanger of Season 5 from the original Teen Titans series. Since then, Teen Titans Go!, a humorous spin-off that airs on Cartoon Network, has taken over and given viewers plenty of chuckles. Yet, the unresolved plot points from the initial animated show still linger. As it turns out, an actress who voiced Raven in the original Teen Titans and continues to voice her in Teen Titans Go! has hinted that the cast would be thrilled to delve into a sixth season.

We’re all eager for Season 6, and just like the Titans, we feel, ‘Why not do both? They are separate series.’ There’s no logical reason why we can’t conclude this significant storyline by providing fans with an ending they truly deserve, as we seemed to leave everyone on a cliffhanger at its end.

When I recently sat down with Tara Strong to toast to the record-breaking run of Teen Titans Go! as the longest-running DC animated series, her enthusiasm was palpable – there’s no sign of this comedic spin-off winding down any time soon. With over 400 episodes under our belts, the team behind the scenes is still buzzing with ideas for what’s next in the Titans’ high-comedy universe. Interestingly, she hinted at the possibility of juggling both current and future projects!

Essentially, we’re all eager for this to happen, so it depends on Warner Bros.’ decision. If they give the go-ahead, we’ll follow suit without hesitation. In fact, we’d be thrilled to participate. And as I mentioned earlier, we could potentially work on it simultaneously.

Speaking of multiverses, imagine if we’re discussing realms where things can get quite absurd and whimsical, right? For instance, the sixth season of ‘Teen Titans’ could continue a rather intense storyline with significant consequences. On the other hand, ‘Teen Titans Go!’ presents a humorous, light-hearted take on the same universe.

It’s important to clarify that the announcement doesn’t confirm a return of the original “Teen Titans” series to tie up its unresolved ending. However, given Warner Bros.’ previous move in bringing back the original Titans for the film “Teen Titans Go! Vs. Teen Titans,” it isn’t entirely out of question that this could happen in the future.

What ‘Teen Titans’ Season 6 Might Look Like

The Teen Titans Go! comic series ended the emotional saga between Terra and Beast Boy in its final installment. But, even if the series mirrors the comics exactly, there remain numerous lingering questions among fans that they’d be eager to see explored further.

Beyond the dynamic between Beast Boy and Terra, a significant curiosity among fans revolves around the fate of the Titans’ arch-nemesis, Slade. The series appeared to be leading towards an epic climactic confrontation between Robin and his team against Slade. Regrettably, this long-awaited battle was never depicted. The enigma surrounding Slade’s true identity, coupled with Robin’s persistent dread of him transforming into their ultimate adversary, left fans anticipating the inevitable revelation, much like a shoe yet to fall.

Currently, “Teen Titans” is simply one among many outstanding series that concluded with a suspenseful ending. Yet, given that “Teen Titans Go!” has been consistently setting new records with its original cast, the prospect of a sixth season seems far from an unrealistic hope.
