Jacqueline Castro has been appointed vice president of production for Telemundo Studios.
In this position, Castro will be responsible for shaping production strategy at Telemundo Studios and managing both in-house and external productions. Prior to this role, Castro served as the executive director of unscripted content and production at Sony Pictures Entertainment, where she spearheaded projects targeted towards Latin American and U.S. Hispanic markets.
Castro’s employment occurs during an expansion of Telemundo Studios’ content, led by Ronald Day as the president of entertainment and head content officer. In this role, Castro will collaborate with his team and be immediately supervised by Javier Pons, the executive vice president of Telemundo Studios.
Jacky’s unique combination of creative insight and operational skill is priceless as we broaden Telemundo Studios’ collection of content,” Pons stated. “Her extensive knowledge of Spanish-speaking media and her dedication to producing top-notch, innovative content will significantly contribute to our progress and enhance our bond with Latino viewers worldwide.
Castro boasts over twenty years of expertise in the fields of media and entertainment. During his time at Mediapro, he held the position of executive producer for HBO’s series “Las Bravas“.
In her fresh position, she’ll take charge of several production crews working in Spanish, manage every production stage, liaise with teams for budgeting and financial assessments, and cooperate with executive developers on appraisal of projects, script endorsement, and creative modifications.
