As a longtime horror enthusiast and die-hard fan of the Terrifier series, I can confidently say that the latest installment, Terrifier 3, has left me absolutely spellbound! The film’s unparalleled success is nothing short of terrifying (in a good way), shattering yet another box office record to become the highest-grossing unrated movie ever made. It’s a testament to Damien Leone’s brilliant storytelling and Art the Clown’s chilling presence that continues to haunt audiences worldwide.
In its third weekend since debuting, “Terrifier 3” has broken another box office record, making it the highest-earning unrated film ever produced. This latest installment was released on October 11 and has already surpassed its predecessors as the most financially successful in Damien Leone’s horror saga that started back in 2016. Notably, “Terrifier 3” is the first horror movie to be both Certified Fresh and Verified Hot on Rotten Tomatoes since they updated their rating classifications in August of this year.
Over the weekend, as reported by Bloody Disgusting, my favorite horror film, “Terrifier 3,” surpassed the $55 million mark at the box office, outperforming last year’s unrated record holder, “Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé.” Made on a modest budget of $2 million, it’s remarkable to see its success. However, it’s interesting to note that while it has broken several records, it hasn’t been the most praised film in the series. That title goes to “Terrifier 2,” which boasts an impressive 86% approval rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, compared to “Terrifier 3″‘s score of 76%.
Fans of the horror film “Terrifier” have plenty to look forward to as the success of the third installment almost assures a fourth. Director Damien Leone has already shared he’s brainstorming ideas for it. While details about a potential larger budget remain unknown, it seems likely that Leone will have more resources to create the series’ signature over-the-top gore. However, outdoing the chilling shower scene from “Terrifier 3” will be quite a challenge, but we trust that when it comes to showcasing Art the Clown’s depravity, there’s still more horror yet to come.
