‘Terrifier 3’ Is Returning to Theaters This Christmas With Some Bloody Bonus Features

As a die-hard fan of horror movies who has survived countless sleepless nights due to these terrifying masterpieces, I can’t help but feel my heart race at the thought of Art the Clown returning for yet another installment. Terrifier 3 has been a delightful treat this holiday season, and I can’t wait to see what horrors Art has in store for us in Terrifier 4.

Leone’s chilling holiday-themed horror masterpiece set in a cult context continues its story five years after the second film, with the enigmatic disappearance of Art the Clown. The main survivor, Sienna Shaw, has moved to live with family, while her brother Jonathan is off at college. As Christmas approaches, Art the Clown reappears, leading to a series of grisly killings. In an interview with IndieWire, Cineverse’s Chief Creative Officer Yolanda Macias revealed:

We are absolutely thrilled with the warm welcome that “Terrifier 3” has received from both longtime fans and new ones, making us think of no better way to kick off the holidays than by returning this masterpiece to cinemas as a present for these enthusiasts. I can hardly wait to rejoice in the festive spirit (and “Terrifier 3” holding the record as the highest-grossing unrated movie in U.S. history!) on Christmas Eve.

What’s Next for Horror Icon Art the Clown?

Fans and spectators adored the holiday slasher, fueling anticipation for Leone’s upcoming “Terrifier 4”. The chilling movie is currently being made and is projected to hit cinemas around 2026, offering a glimpse of the next installment in the years-long struggle between Art the Clown and Sienna. In an exclusive chat with MovieWeb, Leone hinted that the fourth film would mark the end of the “Terrifier” series.

In writing part two, I already had a clear idea about where my story would culminate. Consequently, it was simply a question of arranging the pieces step by step to reach that final act. Thus, the conclusion of part three establishes a perilous situation for [final girl] Sienna, and this forms the basis for a mission she must complete in part four. This mission will be her main objective in the subsequent part of the story.

Instead of veering into supernatural territories like Terrifier 2 and Terrifier 3, Leone emphasizes that the concluding chapter will draw inspiration from the initial movie.

The situation will resemble the initial installment, with him standing alone once more, appearing to be just human. There are some elements I can’t delve into, but I believe this marks an exciting loop-back point for the series.

After the interview, Leone mentioned that Art’s story might span a few more chapters in the series, implying that we might not have seen the last of Art the Clown with Terrifier 4. The third installment, Terrifier 3, featuring David Howard Thornton, Lauren Lavera, Elliott Fullam, Samantha Scaffidi, Antonella Rose, Margaret Anne Florence, Bryce Johnson, Alexa Blair, Mason Mecartea, Krsy Fox, Clint Howard, Jon Abrahams with Chris Jericho, Daniel Roebuck, and Jason Patric, is currently available for digital streaming. It will be released physically on December 17.
