‘Terrifier’ Director: Horror Franchise Isn’t Political

It takes a strong stomach to watch a “Terrifier” film.

Director Damien Leone’s horror trilogy, with a fourth movie supposedly on its way, is known for its exceptionally grisly special effects, which is quite notable given movies like “Men” and “The Substance” are already popular.

In a delightfully gruesome manner, David Howard Thornton’s character, the terrifying Art the Clown from the franchise, enjoys dismembering his victims, and each splatter of artificial blood is meticulously captured by Leone’s camera.

The movies don’t have any explicit political content, but some might interpret their use of ’80s-style shock as a form of expression in its own right.

Leone disagrees.

In his discussion about X, he emphasized that his movies hold no political leanings whatsoever. Yet, he extends an invitation to all viewers, regardless of their ideologies, to relish in the art’s voracious hunger for disruption.

The Terrifier series isn’t connected to politics whatsoever. Our team, consisting of individuals from various political backgrounds, including Republicans and Democrats, invites everyone to join us, as long as they uphold basic human decency.

His parting thought? Don’t let “toxic rhetoric” spoil the fun.

Not everyone agrees.
