As a dedicated Tesla fan and proud owner of several Tesla vehicles, I’ve grown accustomed to the innovative and groundbreaking technologies that Elon Musk’s company consistently delivers. However, recent events surrounding the Cybertruck have left me feeling a tad concerned.
Tesla continues to offer additional accessories for the Cybertruck despite two recalls within a three-month span. In April, the NHTSA addressed concerns over the Cybertruck’s accelerator pedal coming loose and getting trapped under the interior trim, hindering drivers from applying the brakes effectively.
Recently, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced another recall of cars due to an issue causing windshield wipers to malfunction as a result of electrical overload.
I’m thrilled to see Tesla persisting with the Cybertruck, even after encountering some challenges. On their official website now, they’ve added two new accessories: a $300 USD tailgate shield and a $100 USD jumpseat. The jumpseat is an intriguing addition for me as a fan – it’s essentially a collapsible seat designed for relaxing in the truck during camping trips.
The back bumper protector, contrastingly, is somewhat amusing considering Tesla has boasted about the Cybertruck’s bulletproof capabilities. In fact, a promotional video published at the start of the year depicted gunshots being fired at the truck’s metal body.
In a straightforward manner, the tailgate shield is marketed as providing protection for the rear during cargo transportation. Spending $61,000 on the vehicle, buyers might consider this additional investment to safeguard against bike-caused scratches while hauling.
