Tesla’s First Diner Reimagines the Roadside Pit Stop

Summary

  • Tesla launched the Tesla Diner in Hollywood: a 24/7 Supercharging station, diner and drive-in
  • It features 80 V4 Supercharger stalls, solar canopies, and two 20-meter megascreens
  • Orders can be placed via Tesla vehicle touchscreen

Tesla has unveiled its inaugural diner and drive-in concept in West Hollywood, combining charging stations, entertainment, and dining under a single retro-futuristic roof. Situated on iconic Route 66, the Tesla Diner flaunts a stylish two-story building offering seating for over 250 people and 80 V4 Supercharger bays, making it the biggest urban Supercharging station globally.

Crafted by Stantec, this 9,300-square-foot establishment showcases a blend of vintage and modern style. The architecture is reminiscent of mid-century Americana, featuring curved metal elements, neon highlights, and expansive glass panels that suggest a stylish portrayal of the future. This eatery runs round the clock and boasts a rooftop terrace called “Skypad,” offering panoramic views of the city and two massive LED screens, each measuring 20 meters. Diners can choose to dine inside or order from their Tesla vehicle’s touchscreen, with meals delivered directly to their car’s driver’s side window. The menu, carefully selected by chef Eric Greenspan, offers traditional diner dishes with a Tesla-inspired twist – think smash burgers, hot dogs, chicken and waffles, milkshakes, all served in packaging reminiscent of the Cybertruck design.

As a gaming enthusiast diving into the world of electric vehicles, I can’t help but get excited about the unique offerings at the Tesla Diner. Not only do they provide sustenance and charging stations, but they also stock exclusive merchandise that any Tesla fan would love to own – from an action figure of the upcoming Tesla Bot, diner-themed apparel, to branded sweets that are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. Plus, their solar canopies over the west charging lot not only provide shade but also contribute significantly to the reduction of CO₂ emissions, estimated at a whopping 12 million kilograms annually! The Tesla Diner truly redefines the concept of the roadside pit stop, transforming it into a must-visit destination for both EV drivers and curious visitors like myself.
