As a massive fan of Tessa Thompson‘s acting abilities, I’m absolutely thrilled to hear that she’ll be headlining a new limited series for Netflix titled “His & Hers.” Thompson has proven time and again that she can bring complex characters to life on the big screen with her roles in movies like “Thor: Love and Thunder” and “Westworld.” Now, I’m eager to see her talent unfold in a smaller, more intimate format.
Tessa Thompson will head to Netflix for her next series role.
In an exciting new project, Chris Hemsworth, famous for his role in “Thor: Love and Thunder,” is set to star in and oversee production of the limited series “His & Hers.” Based on Alice Feeney’s novel of the same name, this six-episode drama marks Hemsworth’s first venture into series television since wrapping up his tenure on “Westworld” at HBO in 2022.
William Oldroyd, Bill Dubuque, and Dee Johnson are collaborating on a new series based on the novel. The setting will be shifted from Britain to Atlanta. Oldroyd is slated to direct the first episode, while Johnson will serve as the showrunner. The project hails from Fifth Season and Freckle Films, which acquired the rights to Feeney’s book shortly after its release in 2020.
Thompson is set to portray Anna, a character described in the show’s tagline as a woman who has secluded herself, distancing herself from her friends and journalism career. However, upon hearing about a murder in her hometown of Dahlonega, Anna’s quiet existence is disrupted. She becomes determined to uncover the truth and investigates the crime. Detective Jack Harper harbors suspicions towards Anna, leading him to scrutinize her involvement. Each character has their own perspective, implying that deception is at play.
Oldroyd, Dubuque, Johnson, and Thompson, through their Viva Maude production company, will team up with Campo of Campout Productions, Chastain and Carmichael of Freckle Films, and Rajan of Viva Maude, to executive produce the project named “His & Hers”.
