As an ardent follower of Bollywood and a connoisseur of unique cinematic experiences, I can hardly contain my excitement about Ayushmann Khurrana‘s latest venture, “Thama.” Having already proven his mettle in a plethora of diverse roles, it’s no surprise that he’s now venturing into the realm of the undead – and I couldn’t be more thrilled!
Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna are ready to make their first on-screen appearance together in the film titled Thama. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, this project was officially announced back in October of this year. Now, fans are buzzing with anticipation as Khurrana has shared a sneak peek, revealing an enthusiastic reception on the film’s first day.
Following the conclusion of his U.S. music tour, Ayushmann Khurrana has returned to film sets and started shooting for his new project titled “Thama,” co-starring Rashmika Mandanna. This upcoming film is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, who gained fame with Munjya, and produced by Amar Kaushik, known for Stree 2. Ayushmann shared the exciting news on social media with his fans, posting two pictures as he was warmly welcomed to the sets by Dinesh Vijan.
The message on the card said, “Dear Ayushmann, It’s simply fantastic to have you joining Maddock’s horror-comedy universe. Who could be more suitable than ‘Ayushmann’ for the part of the ‘undead’ THAMA? We think this role will be something you’ll really enjoy sinking your teeth into! Best Wishes, DV.” He titled his post, “#First day as Thama
A note that appears to be from one of the team members and was given to Khurrana says, “Good morning sir! Yes, at last it’s Thama Day…we are thrilled to embark on this Thama adventure with you today! We hope your first day with us is great…Let’s create some fantastic memories together!

Back in October of this year, the creators publicly announced their upcoming film. Additionally, the announcement video unveiled that prominent actors Paresh Rawal and Nawazuddin Siddiqui would be taking on significant roles in the production.
Significantly, Ayushmann previously mentioned that this project is a ‘once-in-a-lifetime opportunity’ to Hindustan Times. He conveyed his enthusiasm about teaming up for this venture and venturing into this realm, particularly following the triumph of Stree 2.

I’m incredibly excited to collaborate with Dinesh and his team of creative minds, including directors like Amar Kaushik, Aditya Sarpotdar, and the talented writer Niren Bhatt, to craft a memorable cinematic experience for the big screen,” he expressed.
Under the direction of Aditya Satpodar, a heart-pounding romantic tale unfolds amidst a violent setting will hit the screens this Diwali 2025.
