‘The Apprentice’ Releases First Trailer Ahead of October Release

As a lifelong spectator of America’s political landscape, I find myself intrigued by the upcoming biopic, “The Apprentice.” Having followed the career of Donald Trump from his early days in New York City, I can’t help but feel a sense of deja vu as I watch Sebastian Stan portray a young Trump under the tutelage of Jeremy Strong’s Roy Cohn.

The initial trailer for the Donald Trump biographical film titled “The Apprentice” was unveiled on Tuesday, in anticipation of its scheduled release in October.

The movie, directed by Ali Abbasi and written by Gabriel Sherman, features Sebastian Stan as a young Donald Trump under the tutelage of Jeremy Strong’s Roy Cohn. Upon its debut at the Cannes Film Festival in May, The Hollywood Reporter‘s David Rooney stated that the film presents a mirrored portrayal of the mentorship dynamic, with the apprentice transforming into the ambitious up-and-comer, laying the groundwork for an empire partly constructed on illusion and deceit, all under the watchful eye of a master manipulator.

After several months, Tom Ortenberg’s Briarcliff Entertainment took over the project, planning a pre-election release on October 11. This distribution announcement followed a period of strain between the film and the Trump campaign, who had threatened legal action against possible distributors.

In the 1970s New York, a young and ambitious Donald Trump, who yearned to establish his reputation as the second son of a wealthy family, found himself captivated by Roy Cohn, a ruthless lawyer. This influential figure played a significant role in shaping the Donald Trump we recognize today, as portrayed in the film’s synopsis. Cohn recognized Trump as an ideal apprentice – a driven individual with unquenchable ambition, a thirst for success, and a readiness to do whatever it takes to emerge victorious.

The TV show “The Apprentice” will make an appearance at various film festivals this autumn before October 11th, with a comprehensive awards promotion strategy in place.
