The Apprentice’s Sebastian Stan Calls Donald Trump a “Scared Little Man”

As a movie enthusiast with a soft spot for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I can’t help but admire Sebastian Stan‘s courage and conviction when it comes to expressing his views about Donald Trump. Born and raised in Romania during the communist era, I understand the longing and yearning for freedom that led my family to migrate to America, the land of opportunity.

Actor Sebastian Stan, well-known in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, didn’t hold back when expressing his thoughts about Donald Trump, the 2024 Republican presidential candidate. In a candid remark, he described Trump as a “nervous, small man with paranoia” before this year’s intense U.S. election.

Actor Stan, known for his role as Trump in director Ali Abbasi’s “The Apprentice”, has scheduled an interview on “The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter” podcast. During this conversation, he openly expressed his lack of support for the Republican presidential nominee, while simultaneously endorsing the upcoming docudrama. Stan was quoted by THR as saying:

Regardless of how long I share familiar facts with you, it won’t significantly impact you. Hearing data is commonplace, but truly understanding and experiencing something is different. For instance, after spending two hours with someone, you might question whether you trust them to make decisions that benefit you or themselves. This is the kind of introspective evaluation I encourage you to consider after watching a film like The Apprentice.

Known primarily for playing Chris Evans’ character Captain America’s close friend Bucky Barnes, also known as The Winter Soldier, within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Stan offered his candid opinion of President Trump on the same podcast, stating:

“There’s an individual who continues his relentless pursuit of joining Manhattan’s exclusive club and being recognized on a wall, despite his apprehensions. His focus is solely on achieving this goal, regardless of anyone else’s circumstances. This is the essence of the film.

Sebastian Stan’s ‘Judgmental Attitude of’ Trump

As a fan, I must say that Sebastian Stan’s criticism of Donald Trump wasn’t an isolated view. In fact, the iconic Batman actor, Michael Keaton, publicly rebuked Trump’s 2024 presidential nomination in a heartfelt video shared on Instagram back in October. However, what sets Stan apart is his personal perspective and reasons for not backing Trump’s potential second term. During a podcast interview, he articulated his thoughts on the matter.

Initially, my somewhat casual dismissiveness and judgement towards one individual evolved into something more profound. It became less about that person alone, but rather encompassed a particular way of thinking, the concept of the ‘American Dream’, and its true meaning.

Ever since my mom, residing in New York City, gestured towards the Twin Towers and remarked, “This is the promised land, this is the land of freedom, opportunity, and self-realization,” a sentiment that has deeply captivated me, I’ve been drawn to this notion. In many ways, I represent the embodiment of the American Dream. Fortunate as I am.

Various celebrities, such as Keaton, have been very vocal in their criticism of the Republican presidential candidate. Conversely, figures like Zachary Levi openly support Trump, despite the fact that he, star of Shazam!, has admitted to evolving his views on the 45th U.S. President over time.

Celebrities who are vocal about their views now have the chance to back up their words with actions, as endorsements can lead to tangible actions. The initial polls close at 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time on November 5 (Election Day). Assuming there’s no repeat of the Florida voting drama from Al Gore and George W. Bush’s election in 2000, we’ll find out fairly quickly who will be the next leader of the United States.
