As a dedicated fan of exceptional television series, I must say that watching the Emmys this year has been nothing short of exhilarating! The way FX’s The Bear swept the stage with its record-breaking wins and heartfelt speeches is truly a testament to the power of storytelling and the impact it can have on both audiences and performers.
FX’s series, “The Bear,” has earned significant accolades during the 2024 Emmy Awards, breaking records and making history in the process.
Before the awards night rolls around, I’m hyped to know that the FX series featuring Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach smashed a record with an incredible 23 comedy category nominations this year! Previously, the title for most nominations in a single year was held by 30 Rock with 22 nods back in 2009. So here’s to hoping we see these talented folks take home some hardware come ceremony time!
The show produced by Christopher Storer received the second-highest number of Emmy nominations this year, earning recognition across several categories: best comedy series, writing for a comedy series, casting, and acting nominations for Jon Bernthal, Bob Odenkirk, Will Poulter in the guest actor category, as well as Olivia Colman and Jamie Lee Curtis in the guest actress in a comedy series category.
As a gaming enthusiast, I can’t help but feel thrilled about the incredible success my favorite show is experiencing this award season. It just smashed its own record by winning an unprecedented 11 awards in a single season for a comedy series! Last year, it took home 10 trophies, and now it has surpassed that impressive feat. Simply amazing!
On Sunday evening, Moss-Bachrach claimed his second win in the Supporting Actor category for a Comedy Series, while also taking the Emmy for Best Actor in a Comedy Series that night was White.
As a devoted viewer, I can honestly say that “The Bear” has left an indelible impact on my life. It’s given me the belief that transformation is not just a dream, but a tangible reality… and it’s shown me that even in our most solitary moments, we’re never truly alone.
Liza Colón-Zayas garnered her initial Emmy for her role as a supporting actress in a comedy series, thereby breaking new ground by becoming the first Latina to secure a victory in that category. Upon receiving the award, she confessed that she hadn’t prepared a speech because she hadn’t anticipated winning with renowned nominees like Meryl Streep, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and Carol Burnett by her side.
To all the Latinas out there, continue having faith in me and exercise your right to vote. Cast your ballot for your own rights,” she concluded her speech with.
Storer took home the Emmy for best directing for the “Fishes” episode.
Over the past weekend at the Creative Arts Emmys, both Bernthal and Curtis took home trophies for their categories.
Curtis stated during her acceptance speech that The Bear’s power lies in helping people help each other. She finds it incredibly challenging when her actions cause pain, but witnessing groups of people unite and resolve their issues leaves her amazed at this stage in her life. Unfortunately, Bernthal was unable to attend to accept his award.
In their initial speech, Dan and Eugene Levy jokingly addressed the continuing discussion surrounding whether or not the show truly belongs to the genre of comedies.
He expressed his affection for the show, acknowledging that some might assume we’d make a quip about whether ‘The Bear’ is truly comedic. However, in keeping with the sincere nature of ‘The Bear’, we won’t be cracking any jokes,” he stated, with Edebiri chuckling and showing her agreement to the jest.
Just finished its third season debut, and here’s an exciting piece of news: Hulu reported a record-breaking viewership for the series, reaching 5.4 million viewers globally within the initial four days of launch on June 27th!
The Emmys aired live from L.A.’s Peacock Theater on ABC. Eugene and Dan Levy hosted.
