The Best Part of Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ Last Patch Didn’t Last Long

In an exhilarating turn of events, I’ve eagerly dived into the April update of Assassin’s Creed: Shadow’s realm, anticipating a smoother experience with fresh additions. Regrettably, one of the highly-touted features that caught my excitement has been unexpectedly omitted from this release.

Among all the changes introduced in the update, the multi-sell system was the one that garnered the most praise from players. This handy tool allows users to select multiple items of equipment at once and either sell or disassemble them in a single action, making it much more convenient compared to dealing with each item individually.

It was quite refreshing to play a game overflowing with loot, but the joy didn’t last long. Regrettably, the pleasure soon wore off. A few days later, Ubisoft discreetly implemented Hotfix 1.0.3, effectively removing the multi-sell option.

Instead of stating that “they claimed ‘unexpected issues’ were substantial to scrap the feature entirely,” you could say: They argued that the unexpected problems were so severe that they decided to eliminate the feature completely. Although the patch notes provided little detail, some players experienced crashes, particularly while selling items as Naoe.

It wasn’t entirely unexpected, given Ubisoft’s announcement, that this action was temporary. They intend to reintroduce the feature in a forthcoming update after fixing any lingering issues. In the meantime, players find themselves back to manually sorting their items in their inventory once more.

At The Hideout’s Forge, you can break down equipment, making it handy if your priority is gathering resources rather than getting rid of unwanted items. Fortunately, this update wasn’t entirely negative, as there were also positive changes in the hotfix.

The latest update focused on enhancing stability by resolving issues such as PS5 crashes, HDR screen glitches, and PC stuttering problems. Additionally, it corrected visual inconsistencies related to Yasuke’s costumes and a weapon skin bug that led to the game freezing.

Users playing in Performance mode now have the freedom to experience the Hideout at a smoother frame rate, as the former 30 FPS limit has been removed. However, it’s hard not to feel disappointed when a much-anticipated feature is taken away unexpectedly.

Players have eagerly anticipated the introduction of the multi-sell feature ever since the game was launched, viewing it as an overdue improvement to their quality of life. However, the void created by its implementation has been surprising and noticeable, especially since the process of managing inventory continues to be a cumbersome task for many gamers.

Currently, enthusiasts are watching closely as Ubisoft takes its next steps. The Claws of Awaji DLC will be arriving shortly, accompanied by further updates.

I hope we manage to retrieve our essential tools prior to any upcoming mission or cosmetic releases, so that clearing our overloaded inventories doesn’t become tedious and time-consuming.
