The hunt for Capcom’s Ace Attorney 7 persists following its exclusion from the Capcom Spotlight last night, sparking speculation among fans about whether Shu Takumi’s celebrated visual novel game remains an unattainable dream or has been secretly under development for years.
Where is the elusive Ace Attorney 7? Let’s find out.
More Than 7 Years Since the Last Entry
I’ve been eagerly awaiting a new installment of Ace Attorney since Spirit of Justice dropped almost eight years ago. That game, released by Capcom, was an ambitious step forward for the visual novel genre, starting with Dual Destinies. It showcased a fresh 3D aesthetic that split the player community right down the middle.
Regarding the shift from two-dimensional (2D) graphics to three-dimensional (3D), a significant number of gamers continue to favor the original, flat aesthetic. Over the years, though, certain enthusiasts have come to value the liveliness that 3D offers, as it allows for more expressive character sprites compared to traditional 2D artwork. Regardless, the ongoing argument between 2D and 3D graphics appears to be at a standstill, at least until Ace Attorney 7 is unveiled.
Ace Attorney 7 is Real
It seems that Ace Attorney 7 is likely genuine, based on a Capcom leak from 2020. In comparison to other Capcom intellectual properties, this series appears to have a strong possibility of getting a new installment due to having sold approximately 13 million copies by December 2024.
Even though Capcom hasn’t spoken up about it, there are clear indications that suggest they might be working on something. Regardless of whether it’s confirmed or not, fans are confident that some project is underway.

One positive sign amidst the excitement is that Capcom has consistently reintroduced the series to new players by releasing updated versions, such as Remasters and Collections, and even creating videos summarizing the storyline thus far. Currently, all Ace Attorney games have been remastered and translated for global audiences. Even the previously hard-to-find Ace Attorney Investigations 2 was finally made available a year ago.
Currently, there are no more Ace Attorney games left for Capcom to remaster, which fuels speculation that a fresh installment might be on the horizon – possibly even the much-anticipated Ace Attorney 7. One wonders, why are they reissuing and bundling old games if no new content is in sight?
When is Ace Attorney 7 Coming Out?
As a passionate gamer, I’ve been pondering about it quite a bit, given that there hasn’t been an official unveiling for Ace Attorney 7 yet. While there are hints suggesting it’s in progress, it remains unclear if we’ll get our hands on it this year or have to wait until the next one. With Capcom gearing up to showcase their upcoming lineup, titles like Resident Evil 9: Requiem, Pragmata, Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and the Monster Hunter Wilds expansion are all under the spotlight. However, the question about AA7 still lingers in my mind.

In the latter part of this coming year, it’s likely we’ll unveil “Ace Attorney 7”. If things go as planned, it could be launched in 2027. However, there’s always a chance that the game may not materialize at all. But given the numerous hints suggesting a new installment, such an outcome seems unlikely enough to warrant a strong objection!
