‘The Cosby Show’ Star Malcolm-Jamal Warner Dies From Accidental Drowning at 54 (Reports)

Malcolm-Jamal Warner, famously recognized as Theo Huxtable from the sitcom “The Cosby Show,” has sadly passed away at the age of 54.

On Sunday, as reported by ABC News, the renowned actor and director met an unfortunate end due to accidental drowning off the shores of Costa Rica. The Costa Rican National Police have confirmed that his official cause of death was asphyxiation.

According to ABC News, the renowned Hollywood actor, Warner, passed away off the coast of Cocles beach in Limon, Costa Rica. The local authorities stated that he was swept away by a powerful ocean current. His body was later recovered and positively identified by the Costa Rican national police.

Warner’s performance in the long-running Cosby series secured him a nomination for a Primetime Emmy Award in the category of Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy, paving the way for his future achievements in Hollywood. His latest television roles include portraying surgeon AJ Austin on the Fox medical drama The Resident and the courtroom series Accused, both produced by Fox.

Additionally, he starred alongside Kyra Sedgwick in the ABC drama “Ten Days in the Valley” and portrayed A.C. Cowlings in FX’s “American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson”. Born on August 18, 1970, in Jersey City, New Jersey, this actor was given the name Warner, which honors Malcolm X and jazz pianist Ahmad Jamal.
