The Deadpool And Wolverine's End Credit Scenes Weren’t What I Expected, But I Loved Them

As a die-hard Marvel Cinamic Universe (MCU) fan with decades of experience under my belt, I must say that the end credit scenes in “Deadpool & Wolverine” have left me utterly amazed and nostalgic. These scenes were unlike anything I’ve seen before, offering a unique blend of heartfelt tribute and humor.

As a long-time fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), I’m thrilled to see the latest collaboration between Deadpool and Wolverine hit the big screens in 2024. Having followed the lives of these iconic characters since their comic book days, I can’t help but feel a sense of nostalgia and excitement as I delve into spoiler-filled discussions with fellow fans.

In some instances, these parts are merely amusing asides, while other times they hold significant plot revelations; previous Deadpool films contained both types. The new Deadpool and Wolverine movie offers unique post-credits and end-credit scenes that I found fascinating. Let me share a brief explanation of each.

Why The First EndCredit Scene Is So Different From Other MCU Movies

The initial image that emerges isn’t a fresh scene, but rather something more emotional. As the opening chords of Green Day’s “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)” play, an old, grainy behind-the-scenes video from the X-Men films produced by 20th Century Fox surfaces. This brings back memories of ’80s movies that featured outtakes during the end credits, such as “Smokey and the Bandit.”

Instead of just being “better because it’s more than outtakes,” this collection is unique as it showcases an array of humorous and heartfelt moments involving the cast and crew during the production of films from 2000 to 2019, featuring Hugh Jackman in his various roles as Wolverine prior to Disney acquiring Fox.

In 2019, Disney completed a major acquisition. As a result, this marks a fond farewell to the Marvel realm overseen by Disney, as all those beloved characters have now become their property.

I’m thrilled that with a Disney+ subscription, I can rewatch those beloved movies, and the X-Men are set to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe on the big screen in the near future. The poignant tribute concludes as the Fox logo emerges, accompanied by the last notes of the song. This moment struck a chord with me deeply for it marked not only an emotional farewell to that chapter, but also brought back memories of my college days when a friend created a video of us bidding adieu using the same melody. It felt almost like bidding goodbye to my old X-Men comrades.

The Second Post-Credit Scene Is More Predictable (And Funny)

In the second extra scene following the credits, Deadpool, played by Ryan Reynolds, appears before us in the TVA control room and speaks directly to the audience. I thought this moment might resemble the Ferris Bueller’s Day Off parody from the first Deadpool film. However, instead of repeating that gag, Deadpool asks the viewers to believe him when he insisted to Cassandra Nova (Emma Corrin) that Johnny Storm hadn’t spoken ill of her before his untimely and painful demise.

In the earlier part of the film, I teamed up with Johnny Storm, or better known as Human Torch, played by Chris Evans. Sadly, Chris won’t be back for the new Fantastic Four production. After being ambushed and captured by Nova’s henchman in The Void, Deadpool accused Johnny of hurling a series of insults at him. Any Die-hard Deadpool fan would tell you that was just his way of spinning a tale, as only the wittiest Marvel anti-hero would think up such quips.

As a long-time fan of both the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the mischievous Deadpool, I must confess that I was taken aback by the recent revelation. Initially, I had assumed that Johnny Storm, aka the Human Torch, hadn’t actually spoken those inflammatory words attributed to him. However, upon hearing that Deadpool had recorded their ride to Nova’s lair and was ready to play it back, my curiosity was piqued.
